Winter Ogawa from my Pandora Pox story, currently only one chapter long.

Chapter here:

Soda:

*****************************
My name is Winter Ogawa.

Look, if you keep interrupting, it will take longer to get through this thing. No, I'm pretty sure my name isn't "Yuki". I'm pretty sure that means "snow" not winter anyway. And why was I named "winter"? Because I have terribly unimaginative parents and I was born in the summer while they were wishing it was winter.

And, no, my parents don't speak Japanese. The only reason I do is because I'm a sphinx. Note the cute ears up here on top of my heeeeeaaad....

.....

....

Ears

Wait, focus. Introductions. Soda, that's my roommate, can play with my ears later. No, Ngaio is not my roommate.

I'm Winter Ogawa. Five foot seven inches, 34B (breast reduction surgery is a miracle of modern science) -26-37. White hair with black tips.

EPA agent now specializing in magical situations. Mostly preventive. Making sure the local companies make sure to go through all the proper procedures to avoid infestations of the restless dead and the like.

You can tell by my ears and tail as wel as the eye of horus marking about my real eyes, that I am a sphinx, one of only two hundred in the world. My tail and ears have Siamese markings and you can see these kanji coming down my neck over the shoulders and down my arms.

All that means that I am a third-stage sphinx. Aren't many of us. Stage two is about where most people get to in any pandora strand, that's the natural end of the infection. But stage three and four are for those of us that really work at what we are.

Which is also why I'm typing out my answers here. You see, if I start saying this stuff out loud, my gift will start checking to confirm whether it is true or not. And then I'd have a splitting headache before I got even half way done.

And I really doubt you want me to answer everything with a metaphor, riddle or question in order to avoid triggering the power.

Ahh, right. No, the blue skin has nothing to do with being a sphinx. That's Ngaio's little gift to me given that she bit me before either of us had finished reaching stage one.

See, two fangs up....and two down. And the light blue skin happens to a lot of us of Asian genetic descent.

Ngaio is now a lovely shade of Grey.

That marks me as a stage-two vampire, and I probably won't ever get past that. It's hard enough getting a secondary infection to complete at all without getting into the stuff that requires skill and training.

Mmm, certainly seems like a very complex mythology and set of metaphysics she's wrapped up in.. that there's a lot more to this universe she hails from than what she's mentioning.
