This is beautiful! She looks like my sister. I may buy the wall tapestry you're selling on etsy because this could be her portrait!!

Thank you, glad you like it!
I don't know, it always chages. 8-16 hours a maybe. Sometimes more. It's hard to say since I did not draw with pencil in the last one year.

Wow! Serio? 8-16 hrs? DAMN you put in some work on your Artwork! I would say that it usually takes me that long if not less than 8 hrs., like maybe 5 or 6, sometimes longer. It all depends on what I'm doing with the Portrait. Do you use a Pencil set? I only use a #2 Pencil for my work, it's all I've used and all I know.

Why have you taken a Year hiatus may I ask?

Well, I have some works that took less than 8 hours of course, but usually it's more. It's very unusual when I can finish a drawing within a day.
These tools what I use: artofthubakabra.blogspot.hu/20…

I found that I reached what I wanted in the field of pencil drawings, and I got more interested in digital arts. Now I practice that a lot and paint several things, more that I could do with pencils. It's hard to finish pencil drawings nowadays, although there is one drawing that should be done soon.

I've been working alot on my Digital stuff as well the past few Years trying to master the Tools in Ps and Ai (mostly Ps although I also enjoy using Ai as well, the Pen Tool is SUPERB) but after a bit I missed Drawing with Traditional tools. Last time I drew something was late last Year and earlier this Year. I still got a few things that I need to complete as well. Let's be honest--Traditional Artists like us will NEVER tire of Drawing or Sketching, it's in our Blood.

You Paint? Now this is getting interesting. I also need to get back into Painting as well, I miss working with Aerosols and Coloring with Markers.

Thanks for the link, I didn't know you had a Blog page!

P.S. Don't stop Drawing, I LOVE YOUR WORK!!!!!!

I love PS, I use it every day. For vector works I love Inkscape more than AI, I couldn't ever fall in love with that adobe software.
Well, I have to say, I do not miss traditional drawing even a little bit. Somehow digital arts are more interesting for me, and so hard to finish traditional drawings nowadays. If I go back to traditional, I will use watercolors instead, I really want to learn the techniques of it and I already have almost every tool to do so.
Yes, I have this blog, just always forget to write new posts. I set an alarm last week to do not forget write at least one or two in every months.

Thanks for loving my work. Sorry for let you down in this.

Let me down? NEVER Young Lady!!!!! I'm not disappointed in you at all, although I'll miss your Pencil Drawings but am definitely looking forward to what other endeavors you have in store for Fans like me.

How come you don't like Illustrator? I also own a copy of Inkscape but only used it 1nce a looooong time ago. Now you got me curious as to what advantages it holds over Ai.

In regards to your mentioning of the use of grey backdrop, our highlight/shadow application has no faults from my perspective. I do greatly enjoy your vintage source and recreation. Very inspiring; I'm trying to feta back into portrait compositions myself.

I think you used the grey paper quite well to create an atmospheric and ethereal portrait. The swirls of hair are another great touch.

Lovely. tha hair looks very realwhich is always a bugger with pencil.  Also you managed to convey the sadness or hurt in her eyes that is alsovisible in the picture

All of your portraits are amazing, but you've really caught some magic with this one.  She has a very enigmatic expression, and her face just glows.  Can you give any more detail about the paper and the "graphite tools"?  You have inspired me to try something like this.
