Description finally, a picture of my piece for my final exam!
even though all concerning that is behind me now, i'm still extremely busy with some other things, so more detailed info and more pictures for this will come later!
just wanted to finally show it, since i've been "absent" because of it for so long ^^

I remember when you submitted the drawings for these on dA, and you wondered if you could pull it off. I would suggest you have, and stunningly.

The thing that catches my attention most is the seamless blend of modern and organic elements. There is a nearly "woodgrain" appearance on the outer rings of some pieces, and swirled images that mirror sea creatures such as coral and dolphins. Yet is is very clear these are abstract elements.

The second thing that caught my eye was the intricacy of their manufacture. It is obvious you spent a good deal of time handcrafting these adornments.

I have done a good deal of marketing and advertising for jewelers in the U.S., and I speak from experience when I say these pieces would have appeal for a very broad audience: those who appreciate nature-inspired jewelry and those with a love for the ultra modern. In a world of copycat jewelry designs, you manage to be unique and still saleable.

Well done.

thank you!
there is so much of myself in this piece that it is still hard for me to really think clearly about it. people might notice that even more when i will post pictures that actually show the piece in wear.
it is flattering to hear from you you think it saleable, because i'm more or less trying to come to terms with the fact that i'll end up "a poor artist" (though as long as i have a roof over my head and a days food on the table i probably wouldn't mind )
that woodlike structure on the silver-rings comes through a technique called sepia cast where silver is cast into the shells of cuttlefish. i used it in "the moon and the sea" as well, and really love it. i'll definitely continue experimenting with it, and maybe there will really come some saleable pieces out of it.
^^
thanks so much for your critique!!

It has been my pleasure to follow your development as a jewelry designer. You have such a flair for this, and a fresh take on what modern women will desire in the not so near future. I do hope you don't starve and that some savvy jeweler hires you one day. You would both benefit!

Looks great. I almost wish I could see it in person though... only because I have a feeling that the pictures dont do it justice. Still.... the design looks great!

All the pieces look great together!
Love the way you have used the cuttlefish and different textures to highlight the designs.

thank you! ^^ my teacher also commented on the different textures and how they heighten each other. the changes between them aren't really are that big but i am really happy it seems to work so well
