I know you had this in the critique folder for awhile. I'm sorry it's taken me this long to get to it. Please forgive me. Your patience has been appreciated.
Vision: I get what you were going for here and I think you planned your composition well. Could have maybe given more substance to her nightmares. It could have been a chance to show something about the character without telling us. You know, a chance to story-tell with a single panel is a strength any comic artist should hone. The giant eddy is my favorite, considering how tightly she's clutching that teddy.
Originality: An anamorphic bunny hugging a teddy surrounded by her creepy nightmares? Yeah, I think that would classify as pretty damn original.
Technique: The emotion in her expression is wonderful! But then things feel... rushed. You went through the trouble of drawing the depth of the piece with your lines but did not follow through with any of your shading - at least, not in earnest. It was all or nothing cross hatching, which I feel lessens the depth and flattens the piece as a whole. Which is a damn shame, because I think the depth (the vastness of the fear and terror) you were hinting at with your lines would have been so awesome. For example, some of the creatures further back could have been more shrouded in shadow the further away they are from the light source.
Impact: I can feel the emotion that you're trying to convey here. It is creepy and it is disturbing.

Yeah, I could have given it more of a story, a fault that's probably due to me starting this on a whim without a story in mind.

And I'll admit this was pretty rushed. I drew this in my free time from answering calls at a volunteer job, and I kinda wish that I'd taken it home and spent more time on it. That, and the fact that really don't have any idea what I'm doing when it comes to shading and dynamic lighting, something I've been struggling with but haven't taken enough time to address properly.

I'm being a wee bit of a turd on this and not using the critique box, but I don't really want to break it down into a stark little rating system, because that seems a little... Impersonal, I guess.Β
I do really like this piece, and my only thing about it really would be to go back and work on adding some variation in value to the shading. I know it's supposed to be a dark room and unsettling, but a means of maybe drawing the viewer to the main focus (I'm assuming it would be the scared Bunny and Teddy) by maybe having the shading around that be SLIGHTLY lighter than the outside values. That doesn't mean that it has to be erased, but... Darken the areas outside? Also, I would probably work on shading the 'friends' in the shadows a little, too. There is some start of a hatching shading on them, yes, but... They're also supposed to be crawling in from the surrounding darkness, and they do kinda look... Bright.
For a piece like this, with the creepy, mind games kind of shading, if I were to suggest refs for it, I'd suggest looking at some old school sort of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac or Lenore. I feel kinda silly suggesting them as refs considering that they're VERY stylized, but there are images that go for a similar theme in those books that might be worth some observation.
Like I said, I do like this piece, I think it's good where it is now, actually, but if you wanted to do more with it and go further towards that 'horror in the shadows' theme? Try that. Also, see if there isn't some sort of out there H.P. Lovecraft fanart that has a similar feel and see what was done in those pieces that you could do in yours.

I've actually had Johnny the Homicidal Maniac recommended to me before, I'll have to look into buying a copy or getting one from the library.Β
And, yeah, based on most of the feedback I've gotten on this drawing, I think the main issue is that the shading is weak. I'll have to practice some more on that, and perhaps add to this later or do a "draw this again" when i'm feeling up to it.

wow.... this is really creepy
I love the composition, I think this is really planned. maybe you can add more detail like shading, fur, etc? and elevate the black and white contrast so the audience can feel more creepiness? but overall this is really cool artwork, I love it

Yeah, I like how this turned out, but I could have done more contrast/shading to give a creepier feeling. Though I don't want to go back and add to this because I'm afraid I'll totally screw it up xD. Maybe I'll redraw it sometime in the future.

Oh, man. I remember reading "Squee!" a long time ago when i happened to pick it up at the library. I need to see if i can pick up some of Vasquez's books from the library soon
