I wouldn't blame Mario for wanting to save her.. the first time.
Then she gets herself captured again and again, to my recollection they never get very intimate and Mario risks his life (lives) to save her ass.
Doesn't sound like a good deal for the plumber but I guess he takes what he can.

We changed his line-art to fix some issues, I thought her waist was too long, I wanted to add in some cleavage, change the eyes, etc.
