A few weeks ago I was in a pirate mood, so I decided to draw something pirate themed.

Now you might be asking, how is a jackdaw sitting on a pole in any way pirate related? and you would be asking a good question. To explain that, I have to explain how I got into a pirate mood in the first place.
Some time ago I heard that the new Pirates of the Carribean movie was out, so in order to prepare myself for that I binge watched all previous Pirates of the Carribean movies. As you can imagine this already gave me quite a pirate mood, but to increase that even further I decided to play Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, which, for those of you who don't know, is a pirate game.

So in this game you play the 'fearsome' Edward Kenway (really though, Edward is not a scary pirate name). At a certain point in the game, Edward obtains his very own pirate ship, which he names the 'Jackdaw', named after the black bird from his home of London (or Wales, I don't remember). And that's pretty much how I came up with the idea of drawing this. A jackdaw sitting at the very tip of a (pirate) ship. Maybe he/she is even sitting on the Jackdaw! A jackdaw on the Jackdaw!

Oh and by the way, I still have not seen the new Pirates of the Carribean....
