I enjoyed Fade's Challenge I so much, that I decided to do another one... this time walking away from the whole "Let's do a pretty girl" thing. Stumble across this guy in a deep dark dungeon, it might be the last thing you ever ever ever see...The challenge is still Portrait, single light source. This is a dim bulb with very low range. I'm envisioning a hapless adventurer with a torch in his left hand who came around the corner to find...

Rendered in Carrara 8 Pro Beta (I think I get about one more day to play with this before it self destructs).
I may work up another for this particular challenge, going even further into the Fantasy realm.

Ooo... That is a chilling idea, coming around a dark corner and coming face-to-face with this beastie. *shudders* The lighting really makes this scary, one source of light like a spell or torch, and about to die horribly in the blackness... Beautiful job!

When I was a kid, I used to watch lots of Ed Wood and Roger Corman films. They didn't actually have money for fancy special effects like the ones in Avatar, but they did have the ability to light a scene in a way that scared the gollygeewillikers out of you. I must say, I've been enjoying working with this type of lighting. Thanks for the comments!
