Taken at the Rockefeller Greenhouse - Cleveland, OHTaking a break from my NOLA trip photos, I was clicking through my Botanical Garden trip photos and decided to upload this on a whim. One thing to note is that taking macro shots without a tripod is very challenging--breathing took my camera out of focus.
This is actually another true macro shot taken with my rented 105mm lens (Thank you Cleveland Dodd Camera!) of the inside of one of the Easter Lilies at the Greenhouse. If you'll note how shallow the depth of field is on this, how the center of the anther on the stamen is in focus but the ends are not.

Thank you!!! The funny thing is that with that lens if you breathe stuff gets out of focus, it's so crazy!

Great focus, it's such a fine art with macro shots, isn't it? This is lovely though. At first I thought it was bacteria under a microscope

Omg yes, it's very much hit and miss when you're dealing with such thin depth of fields...and now that you say that about the bacteria, I can totally see it! LOL

I think it's really cool that we can use photography to show people things they either wouldn't or couldn't see on their own. Very nice.
