Description This was my favorite shot of all my moss macros taken on my patio because the light seemed to be exactly right--an odd but magical mixture of direct sunlight to make the waterdrops sparkle and indirect so that I got a nice even light on the moss. Don't ask how I lucked out in that moment, just appreciate.

Although this patio gets a lot of direct sunlight (I have English Roses surrounding it), the moss grows incredibly well in the sandy spaces between the stones. My husband had built a pergola to help block some of the sunlight so we could enjoy the patio even during the height of summer's sunshine and this evidently made it conducive to growing moss. With how beautiful this looks, my spring project will be gathering some moss in order to mix it up with some yogurt and spread it out throughout the rest of the spaces. I was surprised my husband liked the idea too but am so pleased he does.

Thank you! Having a macro lens certainly makes you look closer at things you might otherwise see as nuisances or something.

Wow! If not for the scale of the water droplets, I never would have guessed that this was moss!

And of course my husband asked "Why is the moss so tall?" And I had no answer for him! LOL
