It is probably due to Ples' newspaper comic tendencies. I don't think Tessa advertises them much; Ples acts just like ANY OTHER pseudo-psychotic clock man. You'd never guess by looking at him.

I was entertaining the idea of Ples' laughter to be something /completely mundane/ and almost /comical/ from the moment the strip was released with the first bought of laughter.
