Description I've only done the major ponies in the Apple Family, by the way.

Pokey Oaks and Sew'n'Sow - Not much to comment on here. They were Granny Smith's parents when they came to Ponyville and formed a business partnership with Mr. Rich.

Applesauce - I've made her the mother of Goldie Delicious. Reason being if she was Apple Rose's mum, she would have mentioned it in AFR.

Granny Smith and Apple Core - I believe the Apples are related to the Oranges because of one of the foals being more interested in oranges than apples. However, as the fued broke loose, Granny Smith lost her husband in the crossfire. She was left to raise the foals herself.

Bright Macintosh and Pear Butter/Buttercup - The Perfect Pear explains nearly all of it, but I'll finish the story. Buttercup had complications with the birth of Apple Bloom, and while Apple Bloom was born healthy, Buttercup passed away. Bright Macintosh was dishearten by this, and a week later, passed away of a broken heart. Legend has it that on the evening of each Apple Family Reunion, two shooting stars pass by the barn to be there for their children.

Citrus Orange and Mostly Orange - As a teen, Citrus Orange thought the farm life wasn't for her and decided to try out the fancy life in Manehatten. She moved in with a family friend and started to thrive in the high class life. Eventually, she met Mostly Orange and the two became fast friends with their similar interests. Eventually, they started a business on orange products, their biggest seller being fresh orange juice. They had three kids as well.

Big Macintosh and Sugar Belle - Again Hard To Say Anything should explain this one. And after that, their bond grew stronger as time went by. Before long, the two were happily married and Sugar Belle now works at Sugarcube Corner with the Cakes. Big Mac grew to be a good baker too. One of their foals is named Apple Tart.

Applejack and Caramel - After a particularly bad fight with his first girlfriend, Caramel felt depressed as ever. Applejack saw him feeling down and decided to let Caramel express as much sadness as he needed to. Caramel started to feel better, and began to visit the farm for more than just the annual Winter Wrap Up. Planting, ploughing, apple bucking, the two ponies did it all. On their days off, they were spotted playing with Winona, having lunch together or even just lazing on the hill. Eventually, these friendship meetings turned into romance. Applejack never thought she'd fall in love with anyone, let alone someone who seemed to loose the grass-seeds on Winter Wrap Up, but here they were. The two are happily married now and run the harvest side of things on the farm.

Apple Bloom and Tender Taps - On Your Marks should tell you how these two met. Apple Bloom and Tender Taps often did dancing together, even after the Cutie Mark Day Camp was opened up (sometimes only two members of the crusaders would run it, giving the third member time off). As more of these meetings occurred, Apple Bloom and Tender Taps started to feel somewhat... different around each other. Being foals, they thought they had become sick or something. But, Apple Bloom's older siblings pointed out Apple Bloom had a crush on the young colt. Apple Bloom was surprised by this reveal, and thought she and Tender Taps would get over it as they got older. But it turned out that was far from the case as their friendship turned into a romantic relationship. When married, Tender Taps and Apple Bloom went all over Equestria and even beyond. Tender Taps performed shows while Apple Bloom built the sets, as well as mend other things in the local area they were visiting. Of course, visiting the Apple Family's farm every year was a must, as well as tending to the Apple Family Reunion.

Braeburn and Morning Roast - While born in Manehatten, Breaburn realised the upper class life wasn't his style and decided to move to Appleloosa when he was old enough. His passion was rodeos and holding big apple harvests every year. One day, Morning Roast went down to a rodeo out of curiosity. Breaburn was intrigued by her and the two were chatting over Morning Roast's best hot chocolates. Morning Roast and Breaburn later started to meet up for lunches and the like, and they started to really connect over their cheerful personalities and found they had some common interests too. Eventually, Morning Roast decided to hand her cafe to her friend Twinkleshine and move to Appleloosa with Breaburn.

Sunflower and Orange Sherbet (OC) - Disclaimer: despite his name, Orange Sherbet is actually a member of the Shy family (that will be tackled next), not the orange family. Sunflower has a bit of a rough exterior due to the fact her parents are busy most of the time makes her stressed. This sometimes makes her unaware of what's going on in Babs Seed's life, but she does try her best to be there for her little sister. Orange Sherbet is also a bit lonely as he moved to Manehatten while the rest of his family went elsewhere. The two of them met at the latter's ice-cream shop he runs in Manehatten. It started out as some small talk, the weather, the flowers growing outside, other things like that. But later, the two started to form a friendship and these meetings became more frequent. There were even days where the two invited each other to their houses, and it also turned out Orange Sherbet had a keen interest in flowers and planting and Sunflower had a interest in baking. One hard day however, Sunflower tearfully came to the ice-cream shop and told Orange SherbetΒ she just found out how her sister's bullying was much worse than she initially thought.Β Sherbet consoled her and told Sunflower about his brother Rocky Road, who turned out to be completely reckless and doesn't care a thing about other ponies feelings, while Babs Seed did seem to want to turn herself around. After that visit, it was when the two ponies really started to click with each other and romance began to form. Eventually, Orange Sherbet moved into Sunflower's home in the city and there they continue to reside.

Babs Seed and Featherweight - Since the events of Ponyville Confidential, not many of the foals trusted Featherweight for him taking pictures of embarrassing moments of them. Same thing could be said for Babs Seed and her bullying in One Bad Apple. Sure, Featherweight was editor in chief of the FFP one year, and Babs Seed lead the Manehatten crusaders, but there was unresolved issues. One day, Babs Seed came down to Ponyville for a visit with Sunflower and found Featherweight playing with a ball against the wall, by himself. Surprising him with the idea of playing with him, Featherweight accepts and it isn't long before the two start bonding. During Babs Seed's stay, she also introduced Featherweight to her manestyle techniques and Babs Seed also saw Featherweight's freaky story writing skills. From then on, the two became pen-pals, and managed to keep a long distance friendship with the occasional visit thrown in. Later in life, Babs Seed and Featherweight slowly started to fall in love, and these days they stay at a house in Manehatten. It's a short walk to the manedressers and Featherweight writes his stories upstairs in his room.

Moon Dancer and Shadow Lock (Not part of the Apple Family but she's Morning Roast's sister, go with it.) Moon Dancer was feeling much better since she started reconnecting with society and polished up Twilight's old library. But one day, when she was out to lunch, she found books to be destroyed. Curious, she trotted out and found a pony who was zapping books left and right. She asked what was going on, but the stallion refused to tell her. After a bit of demanding, the pony (who was revealed to be Shadow Lock), said he was wiping history to make sure a wrong in Equestria never happened again by stopping ponies from finding out about the Pony of Shadows. Moon Dancer then explained that the Pony of Shadows had indeed returned, but Twilight and the Elements barers of Harmony along with the old pillars of Equestria and Starlight, Sunburst and Spike managed to rescue Stygian. Realising his mistake, Shadow Lock set everything to rights, and Moon Dancer decided to ask him out for dinner. The two realised they have a bit in common, too busy researching and not really reconnecting. They began bonding and started enjoying one another's company. Eventually, the two of them were wedded to each other.

Yeah, RaRaJack, I don't think Rara and Applejack would go that far. As for TrenderJack, forget it. Applejack wasn't interested in Trenderhoof.

Big Mac and Sugar Belle DO make a nice couple. I bet his parents would approve.

I think the former is more level-headed than the latter. But regardless, if you don't think they will end up together, that's ok.

How did the Apple kids didn't know the Mayor and Mrs. Cake knew about their parents before. Applebloom you can forgive since she would of been too young, but AJ and Big Mac would be old enough to remember seeing them at some point.Β Β

Since how close friends the two mares were with the parents, they likely were at the funeral (though we still not know what happened to them).Β

TobyandMavisforever In reply to FlyGuyRob [2018-08-23 05:59:55 +0000 UTC]

Maybe Applejack and Big Mac decided to keep their parents at the back of their minds for the sake of Apple Bloom and after a while, fragments of their parents' past was forgotten about.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FlyGuyRob In reply to TobyandMavisforever [2018-08-23 06:08:39 +0000 UTC]

That could be it. And the Apple/Pear episode could have them remember.

I'm surprised how there isn't no Mother's or Father Day-related episode, with some of the focus being five of the Mane 6 wondering why Applejack never leaves the house during that day.

TobyandMavisforever In reply to FlyGuyRob [2018-08-23 06:14:36 +0000 UTC]

Eh, maybe the show decided not to tackle that because of the fact there are deceased parents.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FlyGuyRob In reply to TobyandMavisforever [2018-08-23 06:21:19 +0000 UTC]

That could be it. Though we have seen a hint on them being deceased with AJ mentioning if they were there to witness Applebloom getting her mark.Β

And there could be another hint that ties into the story of Applejack's mark.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TobyandMavisforever In reply to FlyGuyRob [2018-08-23 06:22:44 +0000 UTC]

True.

Yeah, people think it may have something to do with her brother, sister and grandma being the only ones left still living.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FlyGuyRob In reply to TobyandMavisforever [2018-08-23 06:29:26 +0000 UTC]

Indeed.

Yeah, maybe AJ went to Manehatten cause of the pain of losing her parents. And after seeing the rainbow and on her way out, Applejack comes across Aunt Orange, who lets her go back home and saying she was sorry for not being there. (That could be part of the story AJ left out when telling it to the CMC).Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TobyandMavisforever In reply to FlyGuyRob [2018-08-23 06:31:57 +0000 UTC]

I'd say so yeah.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FlyGuyRob In reply to TobyandMavisforever [2018-08-23 06:41:06 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps there's a reason on why Aunt Orange is at Manehatten, and not on a Apple-related farm with oranges.Β

Maybe a argument broke out between her, Smith and Bright Mac about her brother's marriage to a Pear. And she leaves to Manehatten, perhaps briefly coming back for the funeral with Smith (and like AJ) being the only ones to notice her, maybe during a visit to Manehatten, AJ discovers Aunt Orange is still working on the family business her own way with oranges.

Perhaps Aunt Orange tries to patch up between herself and Smith during the family reunion episode.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TobyandMavisforever In reply to FlyGuyRob [2018-08-23 06:46:45 +0000 UTC]

Ooh, maybe.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FlyGuyRob In reply to TobyandMavisforever [2018-08-23 06:54:01 +0000 UTC]

And they might of done, since Aunt and Uncle Orange is seen at the back of the family photo. Even though Aunt is related to the head of the family, Smith, half of the family might still not trust her cause of her being in a big city instead of a farm like the rest of them. With how Applebloom seems to be the only one of the kids to interact with Babs.Β

Imagion what it'll be like if a second family reunion episode happens with the Pie family joining in (with Pinkie and Applejack being possible cousins). Would be very amusing if one family member asks one of Pinkie's parents what kind of pies they make, thinking that they run a pie business cause of their surname.Β

Well, Firefly is basically Rainbow Dash's G1 self, but she has hints ofΒ Whizzer, Gusty and Lofty as well.

Rarity has shades of Heart Throb along with Glory, Sparkler, Majesty (at least design wise for that third unicorn) and Truly.

Pinkie Pie takes inspiration from Surprise as well as a bit from Fizzy and Cupcake (yes, there's a G1 pony called Cupcake).

Applejack has a G1 pony of the same name, but Cherries Jubliee and Gingersnap seem to fit her too.

Fluttershy takes inspiration from Posey, Shady and I believe Sweet Stuff.

And Twilight Sparkle has a G1 self named Twilight, but personality wise, she takes inspiration from that of Galaxy, Buttons, Magic Star and Wind Whistler.Β
