My participation to 's telephone map game. I recieved  s'map and mine was passed down to

I was given a map of a united Guyana, I was then inspired to imagine them buff out. To stay in theme, i imagined the Royal Antlantic Union and the Habsburg Empire of the V as improble huge unions.
The country became a multicultural powerhouse with French as the most spoken language, closely followed by English. Other official language are Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, Gujaaner, Cwole, Berbice, Quechua, Aymara, Campa and Shipibo along with a lot of recognised Native Languages.
In this timeline, South America regularly featured on the international stage. This due to longerly surviving monarchies in Europe and continuation of Portugal and Spanish power long during the 19th century. The 1789 revolution was smaller in scale but 1848 saw a lot of political changes. Or something like that. I wasn't too sure of the general scenario and kept in spirit with Telephone Map games : remaining as vague and as clear as possible at the same time.

I might set up my own telephone map game now that i have some holidays, stay tuned!

Federation of Quetzal? That's a pretty intriguing name. Is it an equivalent of the Greater Rupublic of Central America? An expansionist Guatemala? An alternate Mexican Empire? I'm intrigued

I don't really remember how i conceived it. I remeber it was meant to be a kind of Federal Republic of Central America analogue with somewhat of a Guatemaltec or Yucatec lead. It seems that  interpreted it as the later.

No problem, just citing you as the precedent map maker. I really never would have done a South America map without your idea so i thank you back!

I wonder, what are the nations within the Technate of the IV Nations ^^ ?

I don't exactly remember what i had in mind, but my idea for this map to justify the continuation of a Franco-Britain personal union was that French and British people needed to overcome their differences to show off against a huge enemy. I then imagined a huge Habsburg state composed of Hungary, Austria, Poland and Lithuania with Poland as the cultural core. The Fifth nation, i don't remember if it was meant to be Bohemia, Croatia or even Germany/Prussia, the most Probable is Prussia. Then it went to war two times with the Franco-brits for the second and third Mundial War. In the first it ended up in a stalemate and a huge political reform in both countries the second ended with the Victory of Atlantico-russian alliance even if as in our WWI Russia ended up broke and then the Habsburg Empire too. Technocratism rose up in both countries from the ashes. Maybe Germany-Austria left the union and the Technate redifined itself as the 4 nations, them being Hungary, Poland, Lithuania and Czechoslovakia.

I made it vague on purpose though, so people can imagine whatever they want for their following maps I was kinda hopping it would have intrigued enough to become the topic of the next map ^^'

Héhé, that's funny because I imagine exactly that Frankish & Britannian kingdoms unite against an eastern threat ^^ even if I let ThePrussianRussian decide the nature of this threat.

Yes it could've been an interesting map

Yes, social inequality is a very strong factor. :/
But there are some other cultural factors as well. Southern regions are more right wing minded, while the opposite happens in the north.

Ah yeah, sad :c
I heard a bit about it, i must say that i didn't know many things about the geographical variation in Brazil before doing this map, i'm still pretty much clueless about cultural variations.
