I don't get what's so amazing about Don't Look A Smith Horse In The Mouth...
Also, that's quite the unpopular opinion you have about Rapture's Delight.

Yeah, I don't really either. In a way it's like the TBS episodes where the main plot is one that just makes me want to go to sleep... At least the subplot's a little more interesting, I guess...

I wouldn't say it's like a TBS episode....or as I put it a Season 12 episode (Because I find Seasons 13 and 14 on par with the Fox run.), but the mainplot had good comedy, but not a very interesting story even though it's a very creative idea. The subplot was better though.

Eh, didn't really find it all that funny either.
I'll say this though, it's not even close to the worst episode of this season.

Shallow Vows. Main plot sucks, but the subplot makes it more insufferable.
I've also never really got why The Great Space Roaster is viewed as amazing, it was by far the show's worst finale at that point.

OH YEAH...Shallow Vows. I fucking hated that one. Worst episode of the show in my opinion (I watched American Fung and I thought it was a mixed bag because if you think deeper, it's lowkey clever.)....but I thought the mainplot was worse than the subplot. The subplot had potential, but it was just REALLY dull. The mainplot, has SO many problems with it through contextual reasons, character reasons, and execution......I....just...didn't like it.
Great Space Roaster at its base is stupid, but many find it to be one of the funniest of the season because it takes something stupid and executes it has as a stakes-heavy (Even though, you know the status quo, still.) horror-comedy episode.

Well, let's just agree that both plots suck then.
I kinda figured you wouldn't consider American Fung to be the show's absolute bottom of the barrel like many others do. Hell, I hate it but I can easily name at least ten more episodes that are even worse!
Well, that's pretty much why The Great Space Roaster fails: It takes something stupid and executes it in a way that ultimately leaves for a very bad half-hour. And of course, BS Easily Forgiven ending because "Fuck you!".

Deal.
The reason why I don't find American Fung as sucky as others is because deep through that layer of shit, offered a very clever message about seasonal rot and what happens when a show ACTUALLY sells out. Think about it. Fung Wah buying American Dad, the whole show being about a slightly edited overdone plot, the whole subplot being dedicated to advertising showing that the show can't survive without these advertisements, it's so clever because the episode's TRYING to be awful to execute this capitalistic message, which it does, but the problem is THROUGH all of this, they made the episode too bad....
Great Space Roaster all depends on preference. Some oughta like it because it takes something stupid and makes it really good, others might not like it because it takes something stupid....and kind of makes it stupider in a way.

Yeah, I've heard that whole BS before about American Fung actually being secretly "Clever". But I think someone on TVTropes summed it up accurately: It's like one gigantic in-joke that the audience isn't clued in on. And like you said, they forgot to make the episode even remotely good.
So where do you fall on it then?

It's like that whole Ren and Stimpy episode, Reverend Jack, where it's basically a whole episode making fun of John K. secretly, whereas that one had good visual gags, American Fung's only good joke was Stan putting on his sunglasses and moving back the seat while Francine is being taken away to the mental ward.
I think American Fung is pretty meh. It was clever in some ways, but it failed in others. (Also, I knew about the consumerism approach only by thinking about the episode through a series of conversations with other deviants where I soon gathered together the main message of the episode, and not through research.)

Oh....Great Space Roaster...I thought it was a great season finale. Like I said, it made something stupid so funny to me. I remember cracking up when the news reporter couple reported how Roger escaped from the prison....and I liked the horror aspect the episode took when it progressed.
