The rounds look more like 5.7x28mm than a .223/5.56x45mm. other than that it's looks great, it's the P90/Uzi love child.

Amazing gun. A nice amalgamation of several gun designs.

-cocking handle, receiver, and stock (-ish) of the Uzi

-foregrip of the P90

-what looks like a forward M4-style bolt catch


Still looks great to hold. Only teensy problem I see is the fact that the bullets go all the way down to the bottom of the magazine, leaving no space for the spring. Unless it's one of those newfangled magnetic springless magazines. But what do I know. Love the texturing, too.

I see a hint of the UZI in this design- does this shoot pistol rounds or specialized armor piercing rounds? If it shoots the latter it is a personal defense weapon. All these terms- battle rifle, assault rifle, submachine gun- are all organized more by caliber than purpose.

I know this is just sour grapes from a gunnerd but I think the one weakness in a lot of these designs is always seeing the photo-chopped bolt/mag release catch from the AR15 like the mirrored one on the shotgun.

But despite recognizing all the constituent parts all of your designs have a coherent overarching style to them, so hats off to that.

haha yes i know. this is not even the final concept I think... sometimes (often) elements/design from real guns helps to give a certain degree of realism to it. So that is one reason for an example

absolutely Well and I won't be the first to crab about any design for a professional project, since the kinds of things we draw on our own and the designs we turn in to a project for a client/art director are two very different things. congrats on such a high profile gig (also glad you can post your work)

I think it depends on the concept artist and his/ her boss and what they expect. Ive seen concept like this where 1 object is fine and some concepts where there will be multiple renderings of the same object on different angles.

Hey man, do you have to paint some more views from this idea of gun ( for instance, perspective) or is it finnished concept that 3D modeller is able to use in his work?
- and did you paint those tekstures with a regular brush or you used some textures?

sometimes, most of the time actually. you work on a fps view aswell
mix with brush and textures
