Anyways, this is Bigby from "A Wolf Among Us", drawn in HB and 2B mechanical pencils. These windows man, I hated drawing them so much, they were such a pain. Why I decided to do a full background shot of Bigby I don't honestly know. I'm just so glad it's done now lol.
Couple things to point out. It was pretty much impossible to get the whole thing in decent lighting for the photo, so parts of it came out way too dark while others were way too light. So I messed around with the lighting a bit in photoshop to correct it. I was also originally blurring the background myself using my own tools, but the effect wasn't as strong as I wanted, so I used a little additional blur in the background with photoshop. I wanted Bigby to stand out more than the background, so that's why the blur was used. Other than those little things, it's entirely traditional.
Other than that, all I really have to say is that TellTale makes great games. If you've been curious about this game, or haven't even heard of it, I suggest checking it out.

I have just one question but first this isΒ awesome so : how did you make the blury backgrounds (to me it looks blurry and i get the the farthest buildings are made in a lighter tone )

I originally tried to make the buildings blurry by simply smudging the lines to make them less defined. It worked, but I wanted the effect to be stronger, so I increased the blur using Photoshop. The effect CAN be achieved traditionally, but I would of had to re-do most of the buildings and I was waaaaay too lazy to do that xD.
And yes, the farthest buildings were just simply done in a very light pencil.

Basically you just can't use any solid/defined lines. Everything you do has to be smudged tones. The less definition in what you're drawing, the more "blurry" it is. Drawing with a pencil, and having a defined line makes it "sharper".
Basically I would get lead on a cotton swab or something similar, and then use that to apply the lead. That way you'd get very smooth lead on the paper as opposed to a sharp line made by a pencil.

That is actually very helpful.So far I have been using just an blending stump and not exactly make contrast in drawing (like do blurry backgrounds) so this comes as a fresh idea to me > thanks a lot

Of course not as realistic as your other realism works, but it's still quite good. I was able to see the depth in itβnot just in the background but somehow in his face as well. In spite of the fact that, again, it isn't as realistic as what you've done before, his face still isn't completely two-dimensional. It pops out and appears a little 3-D.Β

Thank you =]. I had trouble deciding whether or not I should go with a realistic style, or stay with the cell shaded theme of the game, and ultimately I just decided that it should stay in the cell shaded theme. I feel it worked out in the end though =].

Lol i just finished this game to, damn bro it actually looks liek a screen shot from the game you nailed the style man this came out amazing and the windows came out perfect i like the details you put on the buildings like the cracks and stuff its perfect and those faded buildings in the background on the top left hand corner completes the 3d look to the drawing nice job man
