THIS IS SO COOL! But maybe i do have one piece of advice.... i personally think the woman in the background drawing the line, really takes away the mistery and magic of the picture... now it's obvious how the photo is made and i like it better when we don't know... isn't there a way you could try to 'get rid of her'? (I absolutely didn't want it to sound cruel, I'm so sorry! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="394" title=" (Lick)"/> ) Maybe you could try working with double exposures or so? Or perhaps using less light? i don't know, i just think that would look even better e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/> !

This stunning picture has got to be one of your best! Its unfair to say the laser is not needed as it brings out the picture! Maybe there could be work done on the hand because the laser is out of position and kind of ruins the nice fitting frame of the laser. I would give this photo 8 out of 10 because of its pure beauty with the lights but the hand and the women at the back lets it down.

Thank you, Luke Jacobs! Please rate this comment fair as it would be appreciated!

For the longest time now, I have been thinking for a way on how to express how I feel about this particular photo, and I've finally found out how.
I have realised that while some may believe the laser is not needed, I think it sort of shows physically "the power flowing through you" during a performance.
Also, the position you are in does show quite a powerful disposition.
I believe this was well done, my friend! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/t/t… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="262" title="Thumbs Up"/>

I would also like to wish you the most extraordinary luck in your future work!
Best regards Mr. Garrison Fletcher.

The idea it's great and the title explain more about the picture, but I have some points to tell the photographer about:

1) the background : it's kinda there's a lot of things that there's no need for, may be if the background was black or may be an Instruments.

2) The Flasher: I prefer to be hidden to make it more natural

3) face expression:would be perfect if it was more emotional

the good things is the model movement, hand movement and the flash color.
the girls looks really tired of painting, but she need to try more.

BTW it's my first critique, sorry if something went wrong. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

I think this would look great even without the laserish thingie. The pose and the expression give out a lot of the intensity you want to transmit while singing. Love the lights in it.
The laser thing adds something even though I'm still wondering how it has been done.
I'm kinda bummed that it does not define exactly your shape and gets broken here and there, but a really nice idea. The girl actually helps understanding there is something going on, and not just photoshopped, so it's okay in my opinion, even if maybe the pose is a bit off the picture, she could be actively part of it, somehow.
Cool pic!

pricegotphoto In reply to tankReady [2013-03-14 07:03:12 +0000 UTC]

The girl can't actually pose because she's the one using the light pen to create the outline. A low light and long camera exposure is what's need to create the outline. The breaks are created due to times she has to turn the pen off, move and then turn it back on. If she had not turned it off, the light could come back and forth making a messy outline. Hope this helps.

a well-composed, well-executed work, i have yet to see anything in this manner. it actually looks like you are surrounded by a florescent, godly light, and the visibility is great. one major distraction i see is the girl weilding the laser of ultra awesomeness. and you are wearing a very nice ste of clothing on. it's a great piece of art, it COULD use some adjustment. i see the laser breakin some and the hands are a bit off, but otherwise, an amazing pic, i'll just have to feature it on my page. oh, this is my first critique actually

I really like your piece of artwork. Even though other critiques have said that they like the girl using the laser, I believe that the girl using the laser distracts the eye. I personally believe that the girl is too distracting, whereas the chair is just a interesting part of the background.

I love the way that this image shows depth using the laser. I also like how there is many interesting things in the background and in your clothing. I like there is motion shown in your clothing and your hair.

Overall, I think this is a great and interesting piece of art

For starters i like the shot. well composed, and very creative. I agree that the chair does take away from the shot, but to be honest i didn't notice it the first time i looked. it is also nice to see the lady in the background "tracing" you out with a laser. This is by far one of the more creative light painting ideas i have seen, and i must applaud you for that. Overall a great capture, and i look forward to seeing more of your creativity as well as sampling some of your musical talent. keep at it!

Its a shame attention is drawn away from the subject by the chair in the corner, maybe it could be faded out?
But I love that you can see so much of the talented lady with the light, it lets the viewer know its not just someone photoshopping a lazer effect around himself, its an element of the picture demonstrating the subject's devotion to authenticity and entertainment.
A truly entertaining picture indeed. With an energetic stance that appears fully alive and in motion, giving the viewer the impression of speed and co-operation between contributors, its bold, benevolent and imaginative and I enjoyed every second of gazing at it. Thank you.

Nice light painting

How did your 'flasher' manage to wind up fully exposed there in the corner?  I figured with something like this she'd be a spidery mass of slightly-exposed areas around you.

All I can say is, what a blinding treat for the eyes this is. It is physically painful to look at, yet it is equally painful   to tear my eyes away from the splendorous electroluminescent  light. If it wasn't for the critique, I would never have noticed the chair.  Of course this is primarily due to the incredible amount of neon    blue light radiating  from the photo. lol
