Description
This stamp was born from my boredom during a work break. For some reason, I felt oddly patriotic to my country that day. Strange eh?
I also realized that a lot of you probably don't know the whole Canadian anthem, so I figured I'd write it out for anyone that's interested:
"O Canada!Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee."

I love my country and all, but my school plays the anthem every morning. The bell rings and everyone stands for O Canada over the PA...
It just gets redundant. Like I said, I love my country, but EVERY MORNING? D=

The anthem is very important. Do you realize how Americanized our country is becoming? We need to leap at ANY opportunity to be patriotic. And we should all learn French.

Yeah, I'm glad I was home-schooled and never had to go through that in school. Instead I got to do extra stuff, like Japanese and advanced computer classes.
I have to admit though that I've always preferred the French version of the anthem, but that's probably because it's the first version I learned.

I mean, the tune from our anthem comes from an English drinking song, and the lyrics are about being at war

I like how you give stamps your own style to them. Whenever I see them I definitely think, "Cameron." Which is a good thing! At least in my opinion.

i've never understood why we have to bother learning u.s history(besides the whole u.s vs england) while they don't even bother with canadian history

I know what you mean though. It's unfair that we should learn all about the U.S. and not our own country. Lucky for me I was home-schooled, so I was able to study our history in much greater detail (and not bother with who the 22th president of America was).

Yup, I've been home-schooled since 1st grade, and what a relief that was. No bullies, our own schedule, and best of all, my brother and I were able to take advanced computer sciences, and Japanese along with the regular subjects.

Go Canada! I think you did an outstanding job on this stamp. It truly looks like I could reach onto the screen and just pick it up. Also, the slight domed enamel glazed appearance is amazing.

I think that's about the only line most people know, including Canadians themselves (We are not a very patriotic people).

Same with the Australian anthem as well. Most people only know the first verse (including me) and most people don't even know/understand the correct words
