You're very welcome. It's outstanding. It made me think what would I do if I came across this path walking in the woods.I figured I would probably be scared out of my mind, vivid imagination and all, but curiousity would get the better of me and I would have to keep going.

Yeah, especially if you have a vivid imagination, every little noise is a monster behind a tree

lol, it don't take much. i was camping this year across the lake from all the campsites, and we got there late everyone took the boat back across to the landing to get the rest of the stuff and i sat there by myself, or so i thought. i walked over to the picnic table when i heard this snorting, growling sound, real low and deep like a bear. i started to freak! i waited for them to get back as i sat at the edge of the rocky shore my only comfort a lantern. after about twenty minutes or so they came back and i told them i had heard a bear, low growling noise they told me there was another guy sleeping in one of the tents. i was surprised cos nobody told me this guy was gonna be there, i knew 2 guys had stayed the night before but not this 3rd guy. anyway, that i don't ever want to do again, stay in the woods by myself without a gun at least.

lol at least a gun.Omg I think I would have ended up in the lake. It's funny afterwards but at the time holy crap.I think the most scared I was when I lived in country in B.C.I was coming home from work about midnight during a freak
snow storm.I lived about half way up the side of this small mountain. The road up got iced up from previous spinning their tires and making it slick. There were some cars already in the ditch so I figured not me.I parked off to the side, took a deep breath and I'm either freezing or walking. It was a three mile hike uphill in the dark,no lights anywhere and stupid me no flashlight.I like walking so I figure what the heck. The snow was giving enough light so I could tell where the road was and big fat flakes were falling.Perfect until I got almost half way up, then snap I heard something in the bush off to my right.Whole lot of swearing going on in my head.I thought I'm not going to run, I don't want whatever it is chasing me.I stayed in the middle of the road and just kept walking like I wasn't scared out of my mind.Whatever was following me stayed
in the bush on my right the rest of the way,up to just before my driveway.I still don't know what it was. There were cougars, bears ,wolves could have been
a dog for all I know. Most of the people out there had dogs.I was so thankful
when I saw my house and that whatever it was didn't come out into the road.I'm sure it took a good hour for my heart to start beating normally.I'm sure you're laughing but it was scary at the time

only laughed because i can relate. several years ago i worked at a landfill, i was running a big bucket loader plowing snow. there's this one spot where you have to go up a pretty big hill, it's about 100 feet and it's pretty steep with a huge drop off on one side, a big gravel cliff on the other. usually the loader handled fine but that one time i started to spin and drift backwards! my heart sank into my stomach and started to pound for a second, i calmed myself let up on the brake and then worked it as i was sliding downhill backwards i started to slow down to where it start leveling out, got a good start in my next pass up and made it to the top i was so relieved! anyway, the only thing i can't relate to is living next to mountains, it's so flat here but we get plenty of snow and icy roads...knowing how bad roads can get, i don't blame you for walking. hard to say what would've been scarier driving up a mountain or walking.

That is definitely scarier. That would have been one heck of drop and heavy machinery in a slide.good thing you knew what you were doing, that could have ended badly.I'm not good with heights, the whole rubber legs and sick feeling in your stomach, especially on cliffs or anything with a sharp drop where you're close to the edge.Bad scare when I was little.
I figured the driving would have been scarier,it didn't occur to me to be scared
walking,I'd walked that road a lot of times during the day and I knew there was a lot of wildlife, but I figured you don't bother them they don't bother you.Until I heard the branch snap I wasn't scared and knew for certain I was being followed.I guess the uncertainty and the darkness and that I was by myself kind freaked me out.

yeah, it don't take much to freak out when you have no defense against them.
