So who here read my latest journal entry? No? Well at the bottom under 'current projects' I wrote that I had been asked to submit art for the next Spin Doctors column. The topic I was given was What if Captain America was female?So I decided to militarise her up a bit, give her the funky jacket etc. I wanted to keep some of the iconic elements (The shield, the Star logo etc) but jazz her up a bit. The challenge for me was two-fold - a. I have trouble drawing women and b. I've never pulled off a good pic of the Cap.

I think you nailed it, I love your style. Personally, I think having her face in profile makes it look more like a panel, like she's about to do something. I think it works. So what materials do you use? (so I can steal your style!!!

Woah! O_o i was just drawing a military type chick in the same pose with ovr sized gloved hands too! O_o!!!!! Seriously! Love the style, kinda Emondy if you dont mind me saying ^_^ This should be the caps permanant new look me thinks

Well, I think the only thing that doesn't "do it" for me would be her Head. Like her face and hair just isn't quite right. Shit not that I could do better, Just saying thats the only thing that ruins the look for me. I love the rest. Great military feel and use of the old design. About the wings ~ lastscionz talked about. I think it would be a'lil too corny to have em. If any place they might look better on the shoulder where the stars are, or on a helmet.

it's cool... not the best image i've seen from you.. and yeh.. never noticed that you didn't draw much females... hmm... this kinda reminds me more of Cap's side-kick Bucky.... just a little older... me thinks that the iconic [little] wings on caps headgear would work with this.. like maybe give her a headband... just my 50 cents....

Two things I think would have made it better...
1. Not have her right arm in shadow. 2. have her looking towards us rather then a profile shot!
Just some little nitpicks, overall I think its a pretty kick ass design. Definately the better of the two designs I've seen so far!
