Touhou PC-98 games very charming indeed. Mainly because of what ZUN did with the limiting software and hardware. That was impressive work considering that much, top notch for it's time really.
Also, this is a lovely piece of artwork for Elis here, nicely done!

While I imagined the pc-98 to be less powerful than windows at the time, I never knew about ZUN pushing it to it's limits. Thanks a bunch for telling this, gained a new insight :) !
And thank you very much! ^^-

ZUN mentions that he still love composing music in the style he did for the PC-98 games, he just will not go back to the 16-bit graphics again.
I'm sure that he struggled with character design with that in mind, but he made some awesome looking characters despite this.
So maybe that's why he creates his own engines for the Touhou games now, so that he can bring out the best he can possibly make with modern windows Touhou titles.
That's also very admirable work on his part, again.
In that regard, I hope ZUN composes more FM synthesis related music for his later musical CD's.
I really enjoyed the Perfect Memento in Strict Sense and the Silent Sinner in Blue CD's which featured that still wonderful style of music in them, I'm sure glad PC-98 isn't forgotten. ^^
