First panel - "Come here, Soarin. A bit farther..."
(Farther is used for physical distance, while further is used for degree.)
Second panel - "Well, dropped him again. Should I try once more? I already put so much money into this machine."
"I'm sorry for the interruption, but that is not the best course of action. Money was spent already, and every new game will only increase the final cost of the toy."
"What should I do? I don't wanna give up."
Third panel - "In general, one should not make another attempt, considering past cost has already been incurred and cannot be recovered. And in this case..."
Fourth panel - "I propose we go to the shop nearby, where I saw the same toys. And it costs only a bit more than the cost of one game of the machine here."

Exactly! I saw a vending machine full of Angry Birds wristbands for 50 cents each. No telling how much you spend until you get the one you want. Yet you can go to the nearest Wal-Mart & pick out exactly the one you want for 3 dollars.

That is correct, vending machines force you to buy wholesale or to buy old stock.
