Hmmm...you got me with this question. But honestly, what I find the oddest on Nate are his ears. They don't seem natural to me (they look like a fin). If I had to choose something to change, I'd choose them. But on the other hand, they would be reasonable to be there if he would be a (or a partly) water dragon, and they would be his gills, because newt gills look almost like that.
