Concept piece for Captain Cold with New 52 look for The Flash. We went in a different direction but damn Wentworth looks badass holding the cold gun I had the pleasure of designing. Stay tuned for plenty more Rogues villainy!Related content

I never liked captain cold much as a character but this has got to be the coolest depiction of him I've seen.
like the hood and Icey hands, this cold gun looks much better than the horky looking ones we've seen before.

No one holds a side arm in that manner. For practice, attempt to hold a 1911 with your hand in that purely anatomical position (you know, palm forward). It's unnatural, awkward, and will slow your reaction to fire. In my opinion, I cringe when I see this pose. This faux pas is similar to seeing "spec ops" personnel muzzle sweep each other.

I photographed Wentworth on the police precinct set holding the gun just like that. So thanks for the comments but in this case, not accurate. But neither the weapon not the character are 'realistic' so there's that

Would be cool if the TV Cold got supernatural powers too, but I guess that's too much CGI since they do have a time and budget limit (hence TV show episodes aren't 1 hour movies)
Funny though if you paint this guy all green and give him a bow he'd look just like the TV Arrow

This is AWESOME!!! Your work is beautiful I saw the episode with Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold and Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave AKA Mick Rory; it was fun they were brothers brothers in arms in "Prison Break" and now brothers at war in "The Flash". Will we see a New 52 look art piece for The Flash?

It was awesome seeing Wentworth Miller as one of the Flash's most iconic villains. I never saw Prison Break, so I hadn't seen Miller since Dinotopia.
