Dear Fellow Hufflepuff,
Β Β Β I was rather surprised, upon graduation, to receive my certificate "good for one (1) Giant War Badger, upon request, valid any time" and the accompanying rather thick booklet, Care & Upkeep of your Giant War Badger. The booklet certainly clarifies why one doesn't get the certificate before graduation. I mean, just imagine....
Β Β Β So I went to the giant badger cave and took the riding course. It's amazing how far down the ground looks from the back of a giant badger, but we Hufflepuffs are persistent, and I got my War Badger Competency Pin. I have never sent in my certificate; it would obviously be impractical in my current situation. But having that pin on my collar has a _very_ gratifying effect.

No one wants to take the badger away as the mascot. Β That is totally theirs, as are their house colors. Β That makes three things Hufflepuffs have entirely to themselves. Β If I revised my desires to wanting to borrow a war badger to ride on the occasional weekend, would that go over better?

Excellent. Β So, when can I ride your war badger? Β If they 'accidentally' trample a few people who just happen to not get out of the way in time when I 'mysteriously' lost control of the reins by dropping them when your badger veered suddenly, unexpectedly, out of control when I steered them that way, would that be a problem? Β The people would be birks who have annoyed me exceedingly in the past and deserve to be trampled. Β I'd have dispatched my flying monkeys to deal with them, but flying monkeys attract so much attention, and with as heavily regulated as flying monkeys are these days, I just don't want to risk it, know what I mean? Β A war badger will get attention, but with a creature that large, I'll have reasonable doubt on my side when I say I lost control of the badger for as long as it took for the badger to veer into the building and trample those who deserved to be smashed to jelly. Β Who's going to argue when what you're riding is the size of a dump truck?
