The ink glass bottle; it's perfectly painted dimensions...the feather's texture and luminescence....the ship and it's warmly lit, fading back....those storm curtains suspended from the sky...
And those mesmerizing detailed ocean waters...
This is so beautiful I'm melting...I wanna be this good someday.
God bliss your talent!

Wow. And wow yet again. I derive a sense of power from this art that impresses me. I feel the ink pulsing in the pen of a Creator of Universes. I like this more than probably is healthy. Well done. It definitely deserved the DD.

Thanks man, i'm actually surprised this one got the DD, as at the time i did not think it was my best, but time goes by you think differently of your older works and see them in a more objective light. Most artists tend to think they are way better then they actually are, which twists their view of their own works in an unhealthy way. thanks again

Hmm... Your words have much merit. It is unwise to look at your own achievements with a closed mind.
There once lived a wizard, blessed with great power. He disliked disagreements and conflict, inasmuch that he began to shun the advice of others, regarding it as "contentious". Using his great power, he cast a spell on a mirror in his home, bringing the reflection to life. It shared his thoughts, his ideas, his beliefs and opinions. Now he could consult with someone who understood him completely, and viewed his achievements exactly as he did. The wizard shut himself away from the world, and fell into his work, only seeking council with his other self. But in time, his pool of ideas began to stagnate, his bright mind growing dimmer with each repetitive failure. And as his declination worsened, so did the reflection in the mirror whose council he so desperately sought. With no influx of inspiration from interacting with his fellow man, with no acceptance of criticism, even from those whose motives were helpful and honest, that foolish wizard slipped into utter madness, still believing himself to be brilliant.
Critique given in good spirit is no artist's enemy.

Boosting confidence is good, however, praise doesn't really benefit you or make you better or make you rise from your failures and shortcomings, pushing you to learn and find more knowledge. I find that failure is the most useful tool to learn from and improve. As artists i think the that praise seeking and praise in general is usually unknowingly toxic to our minds - It makes us think we're good when in fact, lets be object, we're either not really good at all or just kinda barely decent maybe. I've seen extremely horrible art that would be 100% judged by 1000 of today's masters to be a steamy pile of garbage, yet I'm at a loss, as i find that these artist (especially here) believe that they are not only making good art that 95% of masters would consider "yeah thats pretty good and skill regardless of my preference" but rather they believe they are quite good and have no need to improve. You gotta step back from your art, bring it to people in your life, professionals in the industry, or people you dont know on the street and ask them "hey my friend (or someone online) made this, what do think honestly? BE AS BRUTAL AS YOU CAN! (or something to that effect)" Ego is the artists' main enemy, if you can destroy your own ego, then you've freed yourself from something that's really preventing you from improving 1000 fold.
