For some reason this reminds me of those paintings of 'the great adventures' and the like..hmm Napoleon [link] those sort of era paintings. If there was a background rather than the blue it would look more like it belong in that era. The dog's eye though, it looks flat in colour, maybe if you added just a very tiny highlight to it. The colouring aswell on the dog makes the elbow part of its arm disappear into its chest. Whether that was intentional or not but I thought I might aswell point it out.
Now just plain curiosity at play here, what're they from?

Haha, yeah, you've a point. Shame I can't tell him he could be rubbing elbows with Napoleon...
I deliberatly left the highlight in the eyes out after trying it, it looked silly on both man and dog. *chuckle* The lower part of the picture wasn't supposed to be there at all, this including the elbow, so it's supposed to be more... vague?
Aand.. they're from a MUD ([link] ) called Achaea. Gaming, you know. Rawr.
