Whirlwind AA on a Mantis body with Wheels would definitely do the job, probably come out cheaper since it doesn't include the use of bioengineering. And Probably support it with an Avenger SAM on a Scorpion body with Half-Track to clean up any possible stragglers. (Probably the most drawn out reference I've made in a while.)

It would never be approved for production.
The tech priests of the adeptus mechanicus would have accused the one proposing the mixing of weapon design as a heretic or an ork-lover for polluting the pure Standard Template Construct design before converting him/her into a servitor.
Innovation is not a concept the adeptus mechanicus encouraged as they believe it would lead to corruption and to a second dark age of technology of conflict against the metal man.
Unless its proposed by the Emperor only, then its holy and the tech priest would accept it.
