Righty-o.

As I mentioned on several occasions, Berg Katse of Gatchaman (alternatively Zoltar/Mala from Battle of the Planets or Galactor from G-Force) is my all time favourite anime villain, the only one about whom I admit to harbour an obsession. S/he kicks some serious booty.

S/He's the terrorist syndicater leader, who was created by (cough cough) merging two fraternal embryos, one male and one female (cough cough) and thus creating a slightly instable...er...being. He's got an IQ of 280 (cough cough), courtesy of two merged brains (cough cough. This is Gatchascience. Better live with it.) and in the end commited suicide by jumping down a lava crater.

Now you probably won't be asking, but I explain anyway. Why did it take me ten years from the first time I've seen this show to draw hir. (as in him and her. Hir. Get the point) For once, I am a bit more attached to the male form. And I do like to stay within canon. (no pun intended). The problem with Katse-sama is, you CAN'T stay within canon, because there IS NO CANON!!! AAAAAARGGGGHHHHH! There are one or two flimsy unmasking scenes, the most important one was done by less-than-mediocre animators. So I had to draw his female form, the Onna-Taicho (female captain, as she's called. Like - d'oh. In case you haven't figured =^.~= )

Second difficulty - Look. This is a 1972 anime. Imagine the fashion. A bunch of teenagers, dressed as birds (cough cough) are fighting against a villain, who's dressed as a... uhm...cat? Doberman? Bat? Something purple with big ears. My sense of fashion will. never. permit. me. to draw such an outrage. No. Never.

So all in all, I like the way Onna Taicho turned out and I hope you'll like her as well, although most of yous probably have no idea, what am I ranting and coughing my lungs about anyway.

She's got the nastiest smile ever.
