I was never really a fan of the original chupacabra appearance. I for some reason saw it as rather more difficult to see existing than the more doglike appearance. But the way you've done it here makes the original much more of a believable creature. Like some sort of highly evolved nocturnal Dinosaur 😊

It looks like some sort of mutant hairless rabbit. A rabbit of which have no ear flaps, enlarged neural spines, adapted teeth for cutting holes and three clawed fingered primate-like hands...
I would personally find this creature more disturbing to discover lurking around in the shadows than the dog-like version, due to its more odd and less familiar appearance.
