A really sweet shot. The tone and composition are magnificent.
This has gotten quite a bit of attention also.

yeah, it has. the funny thing, i really feel this picture isn't so great, because of how thick the scenery looks in real life compared to older photographs i've taken. the view in the older ones goes much farther and is less cloudy. but i guess there is nothing i can really do about that. thanks for liking it.

Very nice shot, great composition and use of b&w. (Ansel Adams would've been proud )

thanks. wow. that's very nice of you to say that. ansel adams has always been an inspiration for me. everytime i go to yosemite i have to go through his gallery. it annoys everyone as we've all been there thousands of times, but i never grow tired of his work. thank you!

the whole of the West Coast is stunning, pollution or not! I hope to venture down south a bit and see Yosemite one day. Wow, do I ever feel so insignificant when I see the sheer size of nature.

you're telling me. one year we hiked up half dome, we left at about 4 in the morning. by the time we reached the edge of yosemite valley, the sun rising. it was the most beatifying, spiritual, euphoric view i had ever seen in my life.

thanks. when was the last time you went? they have so many rules now to try to undo the damage that has been done. it's very depressing. but it's nice to see the animals flourishing once more.

the original is 24 x 16. i felt that may have been too big. but i'll submit a bigger one somewhere in between these sizes so that you can see this better.
