a few stock and own photographes are used as a base for this image. the balloon/ mask part is completely made out of photo's but to answer you other quistion i need to ask, what part do you think is liquid? i will be happy to explain as the visuals in this image wheren't all to hard to make at all.

I know its not liquid. I was thinking that in-order to change the color of the balloon, you could apply that same technique to changing liquid.

nah mac is nothing special, photoshop runs the same in both
i have a macbook pro and a PC for my desktop, both are awesome.
