you should take photos of it!
i drove for 2 hours to get this kind of landscape
if it was next door it would have been definitely easier

i thought so! i saw them on september 17th, 2008 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. i really loved the show-- they have an incredible layered sound, and it is much more powerful in person!

yeah surely
unfortunately i've missed them when they came here in italy
i think they're going to return this summer and probably i'll go

but you know what? i think they've made just too many albums
i really really like all of them but i don't know...sometimes i wish they would have focused more on doing less albums and putting in more substance

but of course they're an epic band, probably the most important in the post-rock field

i agree with what you said about mogwai and substance-- sometimes the content doesn't hook me enough, and doesn't place itself in the context of others things and ideas. how do you feel about isis? i've managed to see them in concert, as well.

i saw them twice, the first one during the Panopticon tour and the second one during the In Absence of Truth tour
they belong to a period of my life where i was getting tired of all the metal stuff that i was listening to during my teen years and so i was looking for new things
Now i don't like them so much anymore, but i think that Oceanic and Panopticon are two masterpieces; also i apreciate the fact that they've tried to move a little further in their style with In Absence of Truth
I also think that during years there's been a sort of crossing over between these two bands, so that Isis started to sound a bit like Mogwai and Mogwai like Isis

(also Neurosis kinda had the same evolution, their newer albums sounds a bit softer than the older ones - The Eye of every storm is still one of my most favorite of all the albums i've listened to)

i've seen isis twice as well--- the first time when they opened up for tool, and the second time when they were the headliner at the 9:30 club in DC. it was my first introduction, but i have been looking back at their work, and i think i see what you are saying about their style. i am going to look up Neurosis!

yeah
also if you're in a 'i wanna listen to something new' mood i would suggest you the first self titled album of Mouth of the Architect
some really cool stuff
