Many references used. As you can tell, I got too invested in the horses. Should prolly tone down the contrast on them?
Time: 8-12 hours? Forced immobility does have an upside!

Now that is interesting!
I really like how you combined different elements to create this wonderful work. You have many contrasts like you go from the whales which live in the water and are huge over the horses which live on the land to the crane which can fly through the air and is so delicate and graceful. Furthermore you have the horses eating gras and the lion as a predator.
All these animals are strong and elegant, you made a great choice by using them.
Moreover they all look like their flying/running alongside the girl and not just for themselves Only the two rays in the left don't fit in this direction.
With the colours going from warm a worm sunset to a cloudy night on the left you gave the picture depth. At the same time the change into the gray and blue feels a bit too sudden, like there's a darkness crawling over the beautiful scene and it's keeping a lot of the first impression to itself. On the other hand the big and round curves of especially the bigger whale pull the view back to the middle of the drawing.
Last bot not least: I really like the idea of this painting. For me it seems like a dream. The girl is followed by her guardians, which are all strong and elegant.

Thanks for the critique! You make a good point about the darker/colder/cloudy area on the left side. It does break up the overall picture without much explanation and was not meant to be more frightening or cold, just a way for the space to recede. The idea is that the creatures are all actually coming from the (tiny) pages blowing backwards, but then they are also moving forward as if to catch up to the girl.
