Karkat’s P.O.V.

“Mum! Dad!” You turned around to see two large and one tiny human. The smaller one was staring at you with wide eyes. “What are you?” She said, her voice filled with awe. “Mum. Dad. This is Karkat Vantas. He’s injured and needs to stay hidden. Can he please stay here?” _____ put on the most innocent, begging face she could. You tried not to laugh and instead put your own pathetic face on. The female had swung in your favour, but the male still looked stoic. His expression definitely showed that you would have to do better. You stood, facing him. “SIR, I PROMISE THAT I WILL LEAVE IF I DO ANYTHING THAT MAKES YOU UNHAPPY.” You had to focus to make sure there were no swears in the sentence. He raised his eyebrow at you. “Really?” You locked eyes with him. “I SWEAR ON MY PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A LIFE.” Suddenly, he roughly patted you on the back. “Now that’s an oath I can agree to!” He bellowed happily. You glanced at ______. She gave you two thumbs up, grinning. You sat back down next to her, wincing slightly. The small human sat next to you, her eyes still wide. “Why is your skin grey?” “BECAUSE IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN.” “And why are your fingernails so long?” “BECAUSE THEY ARE.” You could hear ______ stifling a laugh. She picked up the little human. “How was the movie Molly?” “It was awesome! There was this guy and…..” You listened to the human ramble on about the movie. It was pleasant. For once, you were actually calm. ____ put the human down and sat down beside you. She frowned at you for a moment, before smiling at you. “WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT FOR?” You said, confused. “Nothing~” she said in a sing song voice. She hurried upstairs before you could question further. You sighed and flopped back on the couch. A soft cloth dropped on your head, blinding you. You pulled it off, careful not to rip your horns in it. The male stood near you. “THANKS.” “No problem.” he said, turning to walk away. “Oh! By the way, I will be holding you to that oath. Have a good sleep!” He walked off leaving you alone. You lay down on the couch and pulled the blanket over yourself. Closing your eyes, you fell asleep.

Shitshitshitshitshit. Looking back, you could see Vriska striding after you. She took her time, knowing she could catch you whenever she wanted. You stopped in front of a door and opened it, locking it behind yourself. It wouldn’t hold her for long. In the room you saw a device and a circular structure. You flicked a few dials desperately. Your efforts weren’t fruitless as the circular structure lit up, a swirling vortex appearing in its centre. The door behind you was kicked down, Vriska walking towards you. You leaped into the vortex, praying it was better than what was here. The last thing you heard were Vriska’s mocking words. “You can’t run for8v8r Karkat ::::::::)”

You woke up with a start. You looked around frantically until you realised where you were. Breathing a sigh of relief, you sat up. You pushed the blanket off yourself. “Morning sleepyhead.” You looked up to see ______ standing, holding two mugs of steaming beverages. She was dressed in a (f/c) check shirt and loose dark blue jeans. “MORNING FUCKASS.” She laughed. “Thank goodness. I was worried my family had scared the profanity out of you.” She held the mug out to you. “Hot chocolate?” You took the mug from her and sipped it cautiously. Fuck this was good. “THIS IS FUCKING DELICIOUS. ALSO, NOTHING CAN STOP ME SWEARING.” She laughed. “Well, I’m glad you like the drink.” You stood awkwardly for a while before you heard a knock at the door. Thank gog, you thought as _____ hurried off to get it. You heard murmuring at the door before _____ reappeared with a human female. She spotted something in ______’s ear making her flush red and push her friend away, annoyed. “Karkat meet Jessica, my friend.” “NICE TO MEET YOU FUCKASS.”

Reader’s P.O.V.

Your friend spotting Karkat, had decided to whisper, “He’s hot.” In your ear, making you go red. You knew he was, it had been distracting when you were treating him. You pushed her and she simply laughed at you, amused. “Karkat meet Jessica my friend.” “NICE TO MEET YOU FUCKASS.” You couldn’t help, but laugh at Jessica’s face. “You might want to close your mouth Jess. Something might fly in.” You choked through your laughs. “So how do you know _____?” Jessica asked, regaining her composure. “I CAME TO HER HOUSE LAST NIGHT BLEEDING AND SHE CLEANED UP PRETTY FUCKING NICELY.” Jessica’s eyes widened. “Bleeding?!” “Okay, that’s enough! Out you go!” You said, trying to push her out the door. “Bu-““Goodbye!” You slammed the door and relaxed. “WAS SHE REALLY YOUR FRIEND?” “Yeah, but she’s a huge gossip. Just the fact you’re here will be all over the internet before we know it.” “SHE’S REALLY THAT FUCKING BAD?” You sighed, smiling “Yeah. She is. But if I try and avoid her she’ll just develop some crazy theories about you. Some of which would be kinda embarrassing….” You trailed off, thinking. You had to think of something that would sate her curiosity for a little while. “There’s gotta be a way to make not try and interrogate you….” You mumbled. “WELL, YOU COULD JUST LET HER IN.” You looked at Karkat. Was he crazy? “HEY, I’M LESS CRAZY THAN A CERTAIN FUCKASS WHO LET ME INTO HER HOME.” “You’re never gonna let me forget that are you?” “I’LL STOP IF YOU LET THAT ANNOYING FUCKASS IN.” “Fine.” You grumbled. You opened the door, letting Jessica in. “That was very rude _____.” “Sorry.” You grumbled. “I have questions.” “I THOUGHT YOU WOULD. JUST PROMISE YOU WON’T SPREAD THIS SHIT AROUND, NO MATTER HOW CRAZY IT MIGHT GET.” “Okay, now, why were you bleeding?” “THIS BITCH VRISKA, SHE’S REALLY CRAZY, SLIT MY CHEST.” Your eyes widened. “W-what does she look like?” Jessica asked. “SHE’S GOT LONG BLACK HAIR, GREY SKIN LIKE ME, GLASSES, A GLASS EYE WITH EIGHT PUPILS, A CYBORG ARM AND HORNS.” “Um, I have a question.” You said, glancing at Jessica “I want to know why you look the way you do. And don’t give me that “BECAUSE” crap you probably will. I want a straight honest answer. Cause I feel like this could get really dangerous, REALLY fast.” He looked at you for a while before letting out a sigh. “MY NAME IS KARKAT VANTAS AND I’M AN ALIEN FROM ANOTHER PLANET.” He gave you a worried smile. “THANKS FOR SAVING ME BY THE WAY.”
