Description     She shivered.
Hugging herself didn't help keep the cold at bay, and yet she kept her hold, hoping that maybe- just maybe - she could stay sane long enough for someone to find her, and save her from the ghosts.

        Hah.

Save her? The little monster in the back of her head stopped clawing at her nerves long enough to laugh at her. Long enough to taunt her, and remind her that noone cared enough to come say hello, let alone save her from the memories of people that had long since moved away, or dissapeared completely.

A sniffle. For the first time in days, her voice tiptoed into the empty bedroom, careful not to slip in the puddle of rainwater, or disrupt the growing pile of garbage that blocked the window.

      "hello?"

Hope crept into her voice as something disturbed the peaceful slumber of the garbage heap, slipping past the tiptoeing whimper and venturing towards it's source.

Another call. She was letting herself hope for the first time in ages, and the little monster wasn't going to stop her.

She was stronger than he was. Someone was here to save her.

  "Hello!?"

More scrabbling, more heavy footsteps, and there he was, standing over her, offering a hand that she grasped for with a fervor she hadn't felt before.

But the hand wasn't there, was it?

No.   Just his voice, whistling past hers, and leaving her feeling crazy.

" Don't give up, okay? I always believed in you. "

She shivered.
Hugging herself didn't help keep the cold at bay, and yet she kept her hold, hoping that maybe-just maybe - she could stay sane long enough for someone to find her, and save her from the ghosts.
She was strong enough to hold on that long.
          She was strong enough.
                 She was...
                          Right?
