Avicularia versicolors are adorable as babies, but even more stunning as adults when they change color. Congratulations on getting one! Is this your first tarantula, by the way?

Yes, It will be my firs tarantula and honestly now, I'm a little stressed because I read that adults eats young mice.

That's not true. I keep over 70 tarantula species, including some of the largest in the world, far larger than Avicularia versicolors get. There are some tarantulas that DO get large enough to eat mice or even young rats, but they don't HAVE to eat them. All tarantulas can do very well on just crickets or domestic-raised cockroaches. There are none that require vertebrate prey items. I have, on occasion, fed frozen-thawed dead mice to some of mine, since I have frozen mice for my snakes, anyway, but I'd NEVER risk giving a live rodent to one of my spiders, and they certainly do just fine on a strictly-insect diet.
