Description Damn, this took me WAY too long to finish, but then again, I'm WAY out of practice. Let's just say that I really haven't drawn anything since like 2007-2008~ish, so yeah, it's been a while. Many times I really wanted to get started drawing again, but never really had the motivation. Then I was introduced to Autodesk's excellent SketchBook Pro app for the iPad for like $2. I was hooked. I started a little sketch here and played around there, and eventually became this.

Please be kind. Why? [excuses] I have never worked fully digital before and the last piece I "tried" to color on PC was back in 2005 with a damn mouse, I've never used the airbrush tool in any program, I've never drawn metallic objects, etc... [/excuses] I'm still learning and I think I'm getting the hang of it.

Full-size it for more details. I'm actually quite proud of her eyes.

Tools:
Autodesk SketchBook Pro
iPad 3
Wacom Bamboo stylus.
Lost track of the hours spent...

So yeah, that's all I've got so far. I'll be designing her pre- and post-pilgrimage suits soon as well as some other details. I've already have some ideas in my head, but I just need to put them on paper... iPad... whatever.

Any of you out there got some tips and pointers, let me have 'em.

Did you really draw this on your ipad?

Yup! It was really my first foray into fully digital drawing. Before that, I always did it traditionally. Once or twice I scanned it into my computer and colored it, but back then I used to use my mouse, so the results were less than satisfying. Now that I finally bought a tablet, I use the iPad for the sketches and then import to my desktop in Sketchbook Pro for lines and color. I'm STILL getting used to it though. It's a tough learning curve and I'm learning new stuff all the time, so I want to incorporate it into my next piece.

Hey that's pretty cool... like having a digital sketch pad then touching it up and finishing it on PC.

Exactly. Though this piece was made fully on the iPad, my process is now, sketch - iPad on Sketchbook Pro, lines and colors - PC on Sketchbook Pro 6

Holy cow I can't believe you drew this on your ipad it's amazing! o.o I love her eyes too and the lips are a pretty shape and the bits of texture added to some of the skin is a nice touch. the metallic neck piece is beautiful~

Thanks Ana. I keep looking over it and I find that the spacing between the eyes is off, particularly her right eye. Cannot unsee now. lol. Oh well, it is what it is. I'll use this piece as my starting point and improve frmo there. Hopefully my next one doesn't take freaking DAYS like this one did.

Hmm... for some reason, I keep thinking the necpiece is really cool, but I can't put my finger on why... Anyway, great picture!

Thanks. It's supposed to be a type of metallic piece, but I've never drawn metal before so I'm not sure how successful I was in portraying that, but it was fun trying.

I figured it was metal, so I think you pulled it off fairly well.
