Preliminary rough concept sketch: trying to work out faces of the characters in my fantasy graphic novel. My "casting call" of sorts.

I'm not going to share too much of the artwork for my book yet. Well, I don't really have anything drawn yet anyway When I get further along with the actual production of the book itself, I will share a lot more. It's just too early right now. I only have about half of the first book written.

Attempting to create my own books is very daunting, even scary. I know I keep saying it, but it is going to be an incredible amount of work. I am absolutely in love with it; the ability to create your own story and characters is incredibly rewarding!!! But I am also scared. I guess scared of the unknown. Not knowing if these years making a book will end up with anyone wanting to read it, if people will care about the story and the art. Also the logistics of getting a physical book made, how to market it and exactly how and where to make it available online. I do have some plans and it might work out ok, but it's so nerve-wracking and I do not think I'll ever feel sure-footed with this goal.

One thing that is helping me is that I am thinking of creating this book like casting, directing and editing a movie. I fell in love with directing and editing video at the art school I went to. It sort of came naturally to me so it helps me to think of this process like making a movie.
