My first upload here! This was an image of my FFXI character I submitted for their contest. Didn't win a thing.
I still like it, though, and made a few fixes later. I have a thing for this bat.The paladin is walking through the woods when she discovers she has picked up a hitchhiker. She's not sure what to think about this...

awww thats a cute pic. you never see people befriending unpopular mobs, is always mandies or gobbies or crabbies things like that, but a bat is cute too! and look at its face it looks like it only wants to make friends ...^_^

The person didn't come out as well and the background and the bat, so I'm thinking of redoing this.

It's called Tres Duendes...used to be the only red Triple Bats in the game. I died like 7 times on my 41 WAR trying to take his picture when Pankration came out...then they introduced WotG and there were red freaking bats flying all over the Rolanberry Fields. I think I went temporarily insane after that. >_>;
It uses a move called Train Fall. I rest my case. D:

Thank you! The background is a weird combination of drawing, photoshop painting and photomanipulation, but I think it's the original sketch showing through that gives it an illustration-y quality.
I LOVES MY BAT. OMG. I'm only sad it isn't a real pet, but rather a rare monster I kill obsessively. I WANT A BAT ;_;
I think DevArt will continue to encourage me more! I see everyone's great art and get inspired. ^^

I had added a dumb-looking border to my entry because it looked like the rules said it had to be 1024x768 ONRY! Boy, was I irritated when I saw that was not the case.
I sketched the background and person on two different sheets of paper and combined them in Photoshop, then used Photoshop to color it. Some of the textures (on the trees and grass mostly) were free images altered from Morguefile.com. <3
btw, I read all your FFXI comics in one day \^_^/ You are brilliant!
