Is the bottle in the water or is there sand under there? Just a science-y thing, but the amount of water in the bottle would make it sink more, I believe!

if it were a metal bottle, then maybe. However, plastic's density and surface area is far lower than what is required for it to sink. Also, the amount of water in the bottle is nonexistent in comparison to the ocean (water can't displace water) in which it is floating on. It is not enough to displace the surface tension of the ocean, therefore it floats
