Too bad there is such a gap between the last game of the season and the Bowl Games. The last game of the season for The Ohio State University is always Michigan. Tickets for this game can get very expensive on eBay

The inzone is a © of The Ohio State University ~

I may be a Michigan fan, but I still know that ohio is a storied program.
And I do not think it will be one-sided for any team.
It will return to the ten year war and reclaim itself as the greatest rivalry in football!

I hope so. There is nothing like a good rivalry to make games fun. A niece who went to O S U married a man who graduated from Michigan State. Game day sure is fun at their house!

My family is huge, so I am a fan of college football period since friends and family went to varied universities. I will watch as many games as I can during the week and on game day during the season. I love college football!

ohio has urban meyer now and both Michigan and ohio are dominating in recruiting. The Big Ten has returned to the Michigan and ohio dominating the other schools.

The Big Ten really needs to pick up good players so the can be a powerhouse again. Urban Meyer is a real coup, and he is willing to take the time needed to rebuild the team

Do not forget Michigan has Brady Hoke!
He lived in ohio. Michigan and Ohio both have better recruiting classes than even Bama last time I heard.

You are right! Sadly, this picture was from 2008. And with all the issues OSU has had along with the various sanctions, I fear it may take a few years for them to get back on their feet. Sad for the team, as well as sad for The Big Ten.

The day my daughter and I took pictures at Ohio Stadium it was an orientation day. We had walked over from her apartment on High Street when she lived there and the gate to the stadium was open!!! We took all sorts of pictures of an empty stadium. Then we saw a truck pull in to the outer area and a guy jumping out of the truck giving us a funny look and we took off like a bat out of hell.

I did post a few of the pictures on my stock site, I do believe (hard to remember with so many stock pictures ) but have loads more that I could post for stock

Thank you kindly for the comment

No way! I can't believe they left the stadium open...but what a great opportunity for you to snap some shots!

I'll have to check your stock account too. As a Native Ohioan, I love catching glimpses of home from time to time. Thanks for posting these pics!

Oh you're so welcome ~ I do love Ohio. My daughter `Arete-Eirene-Phile has two degrees from The Ohio State University and is working on her dissertation for her PhD in Ancient Greek and Latin. Hubby and I met at OSU at the branch in Newark. He and I lived in Licking country just minutes apart but didn't meet until college. Am in the Youngstown area now but make it back to Newark often. Tina has lived in Columbus, Heath and Newark (and Florida for a little over three years) and is currently working in Zanesville. She gets around

Ah, congrats for her! I have a cousin who's going to OSU currently -- it's a great school, but it's so incredibly large! Part of me thinks my parents wanted me to go to OSU, so they could get tickets to the Buckeye games, but I just couldn't resist the thought of going to school in CA and never being stuck in the snow again. I'm sure you've had quite a few opportunities to see a Buckeye game or two!

When my family and I would take trips to NYC or Eastern PA, we'd often stop in Youngstown. All I know of it is the rest stops off of the Turnpike, though I'm sure there's a lot more to the town.

Tell your mom just how hard it is to get those tickets. Students can buy tickets for themselves but getting tickets for others? Even Alumi requests go into a lottery and then there isn't a choice.... a person gets whatever game comes up in the lottery, if at all. The ticket requests are prepaid and refunds only go to those who lost in the lottery. I've gone a few times but dang, those tickets are expensive and very, very difficult to get.

I'm actually right off one of those exits. You've probably passed it a bazillion times if you're taking 80 straight into PA. I'm off the Route 46 exit that goes south into Austintown (township)!!

Wow, I heard rumors about how tough it was to get tickets, but I didn't know it was like that! I guess when the Buckeyes are the only good sports team left in town, people like to see us win a game once in a while.

Speaking of Ohio Sports' Teams... the Indians are currently tied for last place but it is now in the bottom of the ninth at home playing Tampa and they are about to lose... and be in last place ALL by themselves

Oh Cleveland, seems like that city will never have a winning sports team. We actually had a chance in basketball when LeBron was still on the Cavs, but now it seems all hope for a championship is lost. But I suppose that's bound to happen when the city has 'The Cleveland Curse' and is nicknamed 'The Mistake on the Lake'.

But it'll always be home to me, win or lose.

I remember when we didn't have a car phone we used a CB Radio. Often while on the road during a trip we'd listen to the trucker chatter. One day a trucker asked another where he was headed and the second trucker actually replied, "to the mistake on the lake"!

Yes.... or I would feel guilty calling Cleveland that... it certainly looks a lot better now with Progressive Field, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the remodeled warehouse buildings and cleaner streets. I've been to a few Indians' games and just walking around the area is fun. We try and combine the game with "free bobble-head" and "fireworks" night

We should all have a chat at #ohioDeviants so we can complain about the teams!!!

Oh definitely! I'll always enjoy Cleveland, and the Indians' games are really fun to attend.

If you ever have an #ohioDeviants chat, let me know! I'd love to attend and I might be able to grab some stickers or Points for some kind of trivia game/giveaways.

Wonderful! I let Tina know you'd be supportive of a chat at #ohioDeviants ~ we have managed a few small dev-meets through the Group. It would be nice to get a bigger one going.... one of these days

That would be great! I usually come home to Cleveland for the holidays, so it would be awesome to attend a devMEET if you have one then. Maybe for a Christmas light show or something. I know they usually have a pretty big display in downtown Cleveland, but there might be an even better show elsewhere.

I would LOVE to have an Ohio Dev-Meet in Cleveland over Christmas break. We had one at The Columbus Zoo to see the lights on January 2nd this year and it was the coldest day of winter up to that point. A bunch of us showed up, but two girls that came all the way out there, parked, paid to get in, chatted and took some pictures, had to pack up and leave because of a family emergency. But, there were still several of us deviants left. We had a blast. Even though it was cold. And snowing.... actually a blizzard

Tina went to a comic display in Newark that was held by a professor at the local Ohio State Branch, who is a deviant. Deviants come in all sizes, shapes, ethnic varieties, colors, styles, ages, etc. I've been watching one deviant, who was an amazing artist at 13-years old, who has become staggeringly good at the age of 17. It is just cool to see the progress many deviants make.

Another dev-meet was at Kings Island in June. Christmas before last had a good-sized one at Walt Disney World. Each September we have a mini-one at The Canfield Fair. Will be going on a "mini" dev-meet in Cleveland Thursday. It is such a good way to meet people because we all already have something in common. deviantART!
