Description Tina and I attended an Art Lesson at the End of the Animation Tour at The Studios. Of course, we've seen the little movie at the beginning of the tour at least four dozen times, so we simply entered the Animation Building via the rear of the Gift Shop. From there, it is easy to look at the small museum, enter the Meet and Greet Areas and take the opposite way to the left to see current Animated Movie Projects from Disney and Pixar, see cool displays then enter a room that used to house an artist giving a general lesson to a large group but now has delightful displays. Returning to the large, open area there are stairs down to picture displays, snapshot opportunities with cut-out displays such as Cars and Meet and Greets. To the right of entering the Animation Building via the backway there is a waiting area for the next "Art Lesson" by a Disney Artist . While there, Mr. Incredible came out for a Meet and Greet in the main area. Tina was able to get some good pics of an adorable little boy and his family all dressed in "The Incredibles" T-Shirts! The opportunities to see characters are numerous here; however, I digress: Tina and I waited to go into the Art-Class room then once inside found a table with pencils and paper all ready for us to use. The lesson that day was "Pooh" ~ after taking the pictures back to the room, I took out my art supplies and outlined the Pooh and colored-him with Prismacolor-pencils . Tina's "Pooh" came out a lot better than mine ~ see her rendition of Pooh HERE ~ [link] ~ We wanted to take another class but we spent so much time taking pictures we never got a chance!!

Winnie the Pooh is a © of the Disney Corporation ~

I had Pooh as a theme for this bedroom before my hubby, daughter and I repainted it then Tina painted the WDW Castle on one of the walls. Still have the Pooh lamp but the lithographs have been moved and items moved to the bathroom, which will be a combination of Pooh and Nemo. Cannot go wrong with a Disney theme ~ Parks Gal

It is the place to go for vacation. Hope you get a chance to go. It is worth every dime. Some senior classes have trips to Disney. Classes can get a price break and the students stay in the same hotel, usually one of the All-Stars. Going to Disney just seems like being in a Fantasy World to me ~ Parks Gal

The little art classes are so much fun. Go for it! Keep getting your portfolio together and perhaps one day you'll get into Disney's Animation Department!!!! ~ Parks Gal

I plan on doing so! I just wish computer animation wasn't becoming so popular

I know what you mean. There is nothing like pencil and paper in hand to draw freehand ~ Parks Gal

Exactly Traditional art a dying art in the animation business. I was just hoping Disney would have stuck to it

Me too. Maybe Disney will in the future as I remember when they used to house Disneyana Conventions there would be a huge meeting room with DOZENS of artists inside working on projects, signing autographs on anything the patron wanted signed. I had purchased a plate that used to be part of the set used at the Contemporary and I was able to get the entire plate filled with autographs. It was so cool. Now, there are just a limited amount of artists available for the little classes at the end of the Animation Tour. I appreciate it, I really do, but I miss the opportunities to meet and talk to a gaggle of artists at once ~ Parks Gal

Yeah it's sad that there aren't as many I hope they bring it back. Maybe when I work for them I'll force them to bring it back Just kidding.
I wonder if Walt himself would have wanted all of this digital stuff

I often think Walt would be turning in his grave if he had one! I understand the need for digital art and I actually like it but it shouldn't outweigh traditional art !! At least when murals are done on property those have to be done by hand!!!!! ~ Parks Gal

Yeah I agree. I like digital art because it's very refined but there is something that just isn't as special about it considering it isn't all done by hand.

Tina didn't color hers either. I colored mine since the pencil was light and I wanted to erase a bunch of lines. Tina will probably get around to posting hers, too ~ Parks Gal
