also, did I understand it correct that they are just human that have the powers of Pkmn?
I mean, I assume she's a Mankey (simply because they appear on Route 2? But I rly couldn't tell. I also didn't realize she was a Weedle until she evolved...

the battlers that are participating in the league get typed before they enter the pocket dimension! So yeah! they're just humans with the powers of pokemon.
