Description Sydney's main water catchment, Warragamba Dam, creates Lake Burragorang. . . This is part of it a fair way upstream.

Ah many moons ago we often had a picnic watching the sunset over this dam.... not from the same vantage point ... just had to make sure u were out before they locked the gate. Moon Rise was also another great time to picnic but required a walk in and out.

Same with this location. I think they lock the gate at sunset. First time I'd been there.

Wow, you treked quite far into nowhere is this far south of kings tableland, or south of Glenbrook... Can't work out where this is

King's Tableland. 20 km of very good dirt road, then a kilometre or so walk. Quite good out there.

I only ever made it to the gate due to light fading fast.... maybe I should take a revisit!

If I woke to that view out my window, I'd never leave the house

It is pretty impressive. But no houses anywhere near there.

I meant it more in a general sense, I would hope that part of nature would remain unspoiled

In a sense it will. As it's the catchment area of the city's major dam no development will be allowed anywhere near it.

It took some effort to get there but it sure is impressive. The water level is lower than it should be.

There are some beautiful spots in Sydney's blue mountains. I've lived here for so long I tends to take them for granted.
