Did you really think I could make Amaterasu in model form without then making weapons for her? HA! Not a chance. XP

Anyway, this isn't anything close to the swords (glaives actually, but whatever) that Ammy can acquire in the game, mostly because the designs are really complicated.

This was made from standard air-drying clay, the blade, the hilt, the handle and the pommel, where all sculpted separately then placed together with hot glue after they finished drying. Viewed from above, the pommel is star shaped.

For the paint, I used a mixture of plain black, and a blue that has glitter in it, so the blade has this deep blue-black night sky look that shimmers slightly. The hilt is silver car model paint, the handle is painted black and then wrapped in black ribbon to give it the katana look, and then the pommel is silver again.

Part of what made the in-game weapons so fun was that they were always busy, they always moved or had something floating around them. So, as a sort of cross with the Rosaries beads, I added a string of beads along the blade, and a circuit around the handle. And finally I glued two more strips of black ribbon on the top of the hilt, which falls down and curls around the hilt.

It also fits nicely across Ammy’s back, and it stays too.
