Hehehe, these situations awaken pure cheerful Schadenfreude in my heart. One day. One day I'll read your books.

It really is wicked of me, but all I can see in this lovely young lady's expression is "Of all the times to realise you actually prefer girls ..."

Not sure where the wickedness is supposed to be, I just can't comprehend what gives you that idea.

Mostly because it's the only way one could imagine this situation becoming EVEN MORE hilariously awkward (not to mention a mischievous subversion of the original artist's intent, but a marginally-plausible reinterpretation of the reasons for this lady's rather intense expression).

And it is nice to look at their skin tones. Mazacan has the darkest and warmest, then we move to paler Kenzei and then ashen Lachlan. And I am sure we could analyze hell out of man's eyebrows, cause vilainous Lachlan has slight frown while Mazacan none, only expression that look like innocent joy. OOr hands! What icould be Lachlan hiding behind his back?

wolfanita In reply to Izvin [2018-05-17 11:40:11 +0000 UTC]

Yes, they look a bit like a face powder commercial - fits for every skin type!
The eyebrows are deliberate, but the hands happened sub-consciously (as most does when I draw).

Oh hell. Now there's a problem . . . she's caught between the hero and the villain.   I must say I love the expression on her face  . . .and the fact that the two guys don't seem to notice their rival. Each is too focused on his kiss!

Thank you!
The biggest fun is to write the (pseudo)-flirty dialogue between Kenzie and Lachlan (more like verbal duels) and the guys' being bitchy at each other.

You're welcome.

Oh, I can imagine. I think it's always fun to write characters who have a strong dynamic because it simply makes things flow so well.   It's great to hear that you've got a few situations which you really love to write.

I always say my characters write themselves - I just type. There are several story changes that just happened while writing because the characters 'wanted to' act in a certain way I had not planned.

I can completely understand that. I get that sometimes with some of my characters--it's both an exhilarating and terrifying feeling, don't you agree?

The heroine on the horns of a dilemma.

wolfanita In reply to Zeonista [2018-05-17 11:29:06 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but her bigger problem might be that our hero Mazacan is working for the bad guys, too.

Zeonista In reply to wolfanita [2018-06-13 15:23:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that could definitely add some complications to all the choice-making... Probably a lot of that in the plot, right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

wolfanita In reply to Zeonista [2018-06-14 15:13:40 +0000 UTC]

Let me first say that the story isn't about choice-making like; Oh my, will she pick guy A or guy B?

The emotional stuff is just an extra motivation / source of problems. And the best material for snarky snappy dialogue!

In general I'd say it's more about integrity and who influences who and how. That our hero Mazacan once worked for the bad guys will trouble him almost through the entire series. Redemption takes time, obvioulsy.

Zeonista In reply to wolfanita [2018-06-23 15:40:58 +0000 UTC]

Quite right to all of that, although readers seem to react positively to personal integrity & influences when delivered in the form of a love triangle.

wolfanita In reply to Zeonista [2018-06-23 17:47:37 +0000 UTC]

Well, of course. If you don't care for the characters and feel and suffer with them, the whole story (and its messages) won't affect you.
I made the experience: You know that characters are well-developed, if readers/watchers automatically start to build 'couples' or 'triangles' of any sort.
