I love this amazing photo of this wolf so much, How the eyes are looking at us and the color of the wolf is EXTRAORDINARY. The colors on the wolf are mixed and they are amazing. The snow in the background make the wolf stick out so much. Wolves are my favorite animal and I have seen many colors but by far this is my favorite one. The colors are mixed, but they match along with those eyes. I truly think this wolf is amazing and that you were able to take such a clear and amazing picture of this beautiful creature e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="15" height="13" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="357" title="Heart"/>

Diese Augen! Absolut genial!

Danke dir

Lovely picture in any case, all kidding aside. I'm a Nikon man myself; got myself a D5100 DSLR kit and a Nikkor 80/300 telephoto on the same trip last August. I've been lazy about actually taking picture, as it is... o_o

Thank you a lot :3 Do you mean the 70-300 oder the 80-400? I don't know an 80-300 lens by Nikon.
I still work with my old Nikon D40. It works good, but sometimes the old technology is a bit limited. Hope to buy a new one soon. *sighs*

Eensy-Speck-Werewuff In reply to wolfenphotography [2013-06-18 02:31:43 +0000 UTC]

Not a problem, ami! Da, you're right; my Nikkor is a 55-300 telephoto, as opposed to the great huge 400. Also have the lens that came with my D5100 kit, which I believe is 33-85 (or 3(x)-8(x)...I'm better at using my camera than remembering the lens ranges! ^_^ It's all gut, tho'.); just a standard mid-wide. The D40 is nothing to sneeze at where I'm coming from, tho'! ^_^ What this wuff had as a 'digital camera' prior to my DSLR was my low-q cellphone 'camera'. ^_^

It really is a blast to both have the equipment and to make use of it. I think you can probably echo that yourself! o_o

Thanks again for posting me back, and for sharing your lovely work with me!

Yes I heard of the 55-300. It's cheap and really good. I had the 70-300mm before - as long as you have good weather, it's awesome. For bad weather my (really expensive) 70-200mm, is better concerning sharpness. (My little darling *g*)
I have also the kit lens of the D40 (18-55mm) , but I have to admit that I never use it XD. I don't like the pictures taken with the short lens a lot ^^"

Yes, In my opinion equipment don't assure you good photos. You need a lot of practice, too. See a lot photographers here on dA with awesome DSLRs...but the quality of the pictures is not that what I expect from the model.
On the other hand you 're right. Even with a cellphone camera you can get good pictures. Or with a normal digital camera It all depends on the person behind the camera (even if good equipment is always helpful ^^)

Eensy-Speck-Werewuff In reply to wolfenphotography [2013-06-19 22:51:42 +0000 UTC]

Complete agreement there; I guess I tend to baby my 55-300, mainly because it was on the expensive side; but man does it work well! I've taken some first shots of the skyline from my back window (you can see straight through to the downtown core in Toronto from it, although of course the distance is clear), mostly during the day, and I'm getting better at fiddling with the ISO and aperture settings, especially if I'm taking a snap later on in the day. My bro's bringing over his tripod sometime in the next couple of days so I may be able to pull off some low-light shots without a bit o' blurring. o_o

It really is a blast to have a camera as nice as my D5100, but I know I have a lot to learn! ^_^ The kit lens (short-range) is really good if I'm doing simple, well-lit pics inside (like a few metres away) or of folks I'm in close range of, like when I was at the Victoria Day Meet here in Toronto.

Either way, thank you for sharing what you've done with me!
