Man...last night's Steven Universe episodes were just....I don't even know, but I think they have just changed the entire direction of the show and just completely turned the tables on what we knew. XD Seriously, if you haven't seen them, go watch them!!! Especially because this description is probably gonna be spoilers galore.Finally, after so long we got some answers....though definitely not the answers I expected. I actually had to re-watch that final scene in "A Single Pale Rose" before I finally understood the bombshell that was just dropped on us. Just....Rose Quartz was never even Rose Quartz? She was Pink Diamond all along in disguise!? Just.....WTF. Not that I'm complaining, of course. I think the story has gotten twice as interesting with this revelation, but I honestly just don't even know what to say. I'm especially interested in seeing if we get to see or at least learn about how she went from bratty kid to wise leader, as well as how she came about appreciating Earth, more on how she interact with the other diamonds, etc. I just have so many questions!!! I am absolutely excited for the upcoming episodes so we can get even more answers because there is NO WAY that they're gonna drop a filler episode on us right after what is probably the biggest shock in the series so far.
Anyways, on to the drawing. I'm actually really happy with how this one turned out!
I didn't go for an actual background, just something simple. And I added a few changes to PD and Pearl's outfits. Not because I don't like them as is, but I just wanted to give them a bit of extra flare with some ruffles, some lace, and of course the stripes on PD's pants. I just couldn't resist! I absolutely love Pearl's outfit in this episode though. I have a bit of a thing for poofy skirts. Honestly, not sure what's gonna be next. I'll try for something either TF or Pokemon related, since it's been a while since I've drawing either, but no promises. But hey, at least this one's not another Marvel drawing?

But if there was never an actual Rose Quartz to begin with who fought in the Rebellion, that would mean Steven is in truth the son of Pink Diamond. Now I have a terrible feeling of how this will affect not only Garnet, but Ruby and Sapphire's relationship that they were lied to for thousands of years. But I feel deep down Pink Diamond was doing this for more than one reason when she couldn't reason with the other Diamonds. But at least we finally find out that Pink Diamond wasn't truly as "shattered" as we were told she was.

Yeah, things can only get more interesting from here....Yeah, I think there's more to her just not being able to reason with the Diamonds as well. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if she even tried to. From what it seems like, she just lied, saying things like the cities were too hard to take down, rather than actually trying to reason with them....

I was shooketh when this was revealed- Rose Quartz actually being Pink Diamond. Though I have to admit, I love this plot twist and I think things are going to take a very interesting turn.
You did such a beautiful job on this. The shading is absolutely amazing, Pearl’s dress looks so pretty, and just everything is so awesome!

Same here! I think Rose being Pink Diamond was the last thing I had in mind. I never really believed that theory and I figured it was dead and gone by now because of all the holes in it (which there still are some, but I'm hoping they'll get cleared up in future episodes). So it was definitely unexpected for me....Yeah, I think things are gonna get interesting now.

When I first saw the theory way back when- I thought it was a huge stretch but I guess anything is possible at this point in Steven Universe. It's probably one of the bigger plot twist I've ever seen in a cartoon and I'm more than ready to see where it leads.

You know... I'm not surprised that they went this route, it's just... i haven't quite gotten around as to why they did it the way they did... i just don't see why this particular secret had to be that big of a deal...

I was surprised, only because I thought this theory was dead and gone and hardly even plausible to begin with. So I'm very curious to see how they explain how she kept up the ruse the entire time....I think because it completely changes our perception of Rose Quartz and everything surrounding her. And then there's the idea of what the other Diamonds will do when they find out, how other characters are gonna react, etc. There's just so many questions now....

Well... if nothing else, it does explain why Rose Quarts didn't want to shatter the Diamonds like Bismuth wanted to do. they were pretty much her sisters. She didn't want to be like them, but she didn't want them dead...
Meh... the only thing to do now is to wait and see what questions will get answered...

It's kinda messed up that Pink/Rose forced Pearl to keep the secret instead of just trusting her to keep it, especially since she knew Pearl hated belonging to a literal caste of slaves that were always forced to do something and never trusted to do anything on their own.
