Description Caricature of American blues musician and singer BB King. Considered one of the most influential blues musicians of all time, BB King was nicknamed “The King of the Blues”. King was a tireless performer throughout his career appearing at over 200 concerts a year well into his seventies. Over the years, he developed one of the most identifiable guitar styles, borrowing from Blind Lemon Jefferson, T-Bone Walker and others. King won a 1970 Grammy Award for the song “The Thrill Is Gone”. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1980, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, and the Official Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
