Description Ok, these are the spliced together sketches for some of the characters that I've been thinking of for a comic involving Adeptus Arbites enforcers on a planet infested with genestealers. I have just about a full plotline set, with lots of awesome stuff and it keeps growing. This is the project for after sacrifice, I'll keep you all posted as I create more stuff.

Oh, this is Bethany and Tannith, the two main characters (They are partners, yes the Adeptus Arbites has female enforcers.).

Nice concept of modernized Arbites! I loved the concept since I first discovered them in Inquisitor, but they were virtually nonexistent anyplace else other than Necromunda. Based on the new Games Workshop Models I believe they have come to realize that the game could use a little modernization. A modernized rendition of visored, heavier armor types would be interesting as well. And I'm VERY interested in this comic should you get it on the road.

Perhaps a light visor or a single transparent eyepiece connected to a comm device mounted on the ear, connected to the radio ? Arbites always have the best gear available since they are not police but rather the Imperiums fist on location...

Hmm, interesting idea on the eyepiece. I was considering whether to do a head mic thing and I'm still out on that, in my head I still picture the dude with one but I'm not entirely sold on it. I guess I could just do it even though it doesn't perfectly fit in functionally with the shoulder mic which I also find cool and very cop-ish. As for the eyepiece that would be in intersting idea as it would allow them to pull up IDs really easily, but I was thinking of using a all in 1 pda type device for this.

And I'll get back to it soon, I've been putting all my time into finishing my IG army but I have a 4 day weekend so I'll do some more work on it.

You needn't remove the shoulder mike, though a complete headset would be more high tech. You can just add a headpiece that resembles a headset and has a radio earpiece(or not) and said eyepiece. For reference, check out a few Mass Effect marine pics; you should catch a few. Eyepiece functionality may not be limited to file access but can be a rather elaborate piece of technology incorporating scanners and image enhancers as well as supporting other vision modes. Remember, Arbites probably have the best gear in any given planet, except perhaps a very few. They are expected to solve unimaginable cases, put down nests of rebellion or heresy, clear out alien or daemonic infestation and enforce the will of Terra against all odds.

HAHAHA I like the fact that it SEEMS to show your predilections, for you only bothered to do a full drawing of the female Arbite. (I'm GUESSING you didnt do the male one, at least, nothing full or bothered to put in as much time as drawing the woman).

I saw a fan drawing with arbites with a more heavier build. They had Armored vests or jackets, or even trenchcoats. Try that on a buff male Arbite with a bald head and a mustache or something. Something that looks like a inbetweener of inquisitors and civilians.

And dun forget their Arbites insignia or something.

Well I did actually do a full up of a male arbite copying the armor design from the old models, and it came out horrifically bad. But yeah, I do likes them ladies...

Well the idea was them vs geanstealers and geanstealer hybrids. Oddly the nurgle zombie idea is one that I would like to do at some point in the future.

This is really good. You know I didn't realize until know, but there are no real drawing of arbites. Are there?

Nothing contemporary. There are a bunch of really old sketches of them dating back to the times when "judge dredd" was still IN and their blatantly plagarised look was just plain cool. There was also an old comic series that periodically showed up in Warhammer Monthly, the cheap old comic book that the black library put on for a good number of years. Some good fun, but most of the comics got extremely confusing during fights, heck a lot of stuff was almost comical though there were some iconic comics (hehe, pun!) like "Titan", "Blood Angels" a few others. Anyways there was a series that I think was called "Pax Imperialis" or something like that staring arbites, but it had no coherent plotline or story, it was just a lot of REALLY brief one offs.

There aren't any pictures of them in the Witch hunters codex although they do have a semi-useful entry as a swap for stormtroopers. The only place you can find newer images of them is as a gang (not really a gang, but a suppression team) from necromunda, with decently cool new models. I originally did a full copy sketch of the necromunda designs, but they didn't come out well so I decided to make my own designs for them instead. I'm debating haveing those iconic "judge dredd" helmets in the comic, I don't like how they REALLY obscure the face though.

So short answer is yes.

^^ very cool, and I just saw the models you spoke of yesterday. Ive also seen the "judge dread" sketches, but I never really realized those were arbites. Hmm I wonder if there is an archive some where for the comics you talked about.

As far as I know there isn't, they were effectively of the pre-internet era. I'll look for them downstairs (as I'm home on leave atm) and see if I can dig them up for you. I'd repost them but I doubt it would be legal. Then again there is always my google pics gallery...
